  • Patent number: 5221490
Abstract: A lubricant composition effectively enhancing the press-formability, and corrosion-resistance of a zinc-plated steel material and providing a superior, anti-powdering property and degreasing comprises (A) 70 -97% by weight of a lubricant component comprising the sub-components of (a) a succinate of a C.sub.12-18 aliphatic alcohol, (b) a paraffin wax with a melting point of 45.degree. C. -55.degree. C. and (c) a C.sub.12-18 fatty acid ester of C.sub.6-10 aliphatic alcohol and/or a mineral oil, the weight ratio ((a)+(b))/(c) being 1/3 to 1/1 and the weight ratio (a)/(b) being 1/3 to 4/1, and (B) 3 to 30% by weight of a rust-inhibiting component comprising a sulfonates with C.sub.16 or more, a carboxylic acid with C.sub.12 or more and/or a salt of the carboxylic acid, and has a melting point of 25.degree. C. to 40.degree. C. and an acid value of less than 2.0.

  • Patent number: 4973500
Abstract: An inventive method may perform a plating the surface of the metals sheet without using a molten plating metal. This method successively melts a supplied solidus plating metal in close proximity of the passing metal sheet and adheres the molten plating metal as a plating film to the surface of the metal sheet, where the metal sheet passes upwardly and the plating metal is supplied through an upwardly-directed nozzle disposed near the passing sheet, and when or immediately before the plating metal is supplied from the nozzle, it is molten by a heat melting means. The molten plating metal forms a pool at a corner defined between the surface of the passing sheet and the tip of the nozzle, and the molten metal of the pool forms a plating adheres to the sheet surface and forms the plating film.

  • Patent number: 4407899
Abstract: A steel sheet with its surface prepared for paint coating is disclosed. The surface treated steel sheet comprises a base sheet, and an iron-zinc alloy film plated on the base sheet in an amount of at least 0.1 g/m.sup.2 and having an iron content of from 3 to 30%. A composite silicate resin film is coated on the iron-zinc alloy film in an amount of from 0.05 to 5.0 g/m.sup.2. The resin film is composed of an acrylic copolymer, an epoxy resin, a silica sol and a trialkoxysilane compound. The treated surface provides superior paintability, degrease resistance and corrosion resistance after pain coating.
