    Abstract: A system and method for automatically controlling a vehicle speed to a desired cruise speed are disclosed in which when at least one of conditions that any one of command signals from corresponding operation command switches is outputted and that a microcomputer of the automatic cruise speed controlling system normally operates and outputs control command signals indicating that corresponding one of control valves is energized is satisfied, the power supply to the control valves is enabled. On the contrary, when at least one of conditions that none of the command signals from the corresponding command switches is outputted and that the microcomputer erroneously outputs control command signals indicating that the corresponding one of the control valves is energized is satisfied, the power supply to the control valves is disabled.

    Abstract: A function generator circuit is provided which generates a target engine revolution speed electric signal indicative of a target engine revolution speed which is a first predetermined function of an accelerator pedal stroke electric signal indicative of a depression degree of an accelerator pedal. There is also provided another function generator circuit which generates a target engine torque electric signal indicative of a target engine torque which is a second predetermined function of the accelerator pedal stroke electric signal. A comparator compares the actual and target engine revolution speed electric signals and generates a deviation signal indicative of a difference between these signals. A shift control varies a reduction ratio in the continuously variable transmission to vary the revolution speed of the engine in a direction to reduce the deviation signal.

    Abstract: A guidance method and system for an automotive vehicle which switches from an electronic navigational signal method to a dead reckoning method when any of the field strengths of three navigational electromagnetic wave signals drops below a predetermined lower limit or vice versa when the field strengths of the three navigational electromagnetic wave signals all exceed the lower limit. Therefore, even if the navigational wave signals are obstructed by buildings or mountains, it is possible to continuously determine and display the vehicle position. The guidance system according to the present invention comprises a receive-state detection unit for detecting three field strengths and for comparing the detected field strengths with a predetermined lower limit, and a selector for selectively outputting vehicle position signals on the basis of navigational signals or dead reckoning, in addition to the conventional electronic navigation system and dead reckoning system.

The solar radiation heat influx sensor according to the present invention comprises a sensor body having inlet and outlet portions and a central window, a blower to drive air therethrough, an outside-air temperature sensor disposed in the inlet portion thereof and a warmed-air temperature sensor disposed in the outlet portion thereof, and a calculating unit to calculate solar radiation heat influx in response to the two detected temperatures in accordance with a predetermined equation.

The unbraked condition sensor comprising a timer, a comparator and an AND gate senses an unbraked condition and functions in such a manner that the AND gate produces a brake re-application output signal for reapplying braking force to the vehicle wheels in response to both a time-delayed output signal which is produced from the timer after a given time delay and a wheel deceleration output signal which is produced from the comparator when the wheel acceleration does not exceed a predetermined threshold value after releasing of the braking force.
