  • Patent number: 7750872
Abstract: A method for driving a flat-type display device which includes a cathode panel having first electrodes and second electrodes and an anode panel, the cathode panel and the anode panel having spacers is provided. The method includes the steps of: in the non-display operation period of the flat-type display device, determining a normalized first current from a first current by non-display-driving the electron emitter areas near the spacers, and determining a normalized second current from a second current by non-display-driving the electron emitter areas which are not near the spacers; and in the actual display operation period of the flat-type display device, setting the driving conditions for the electron emitter areas on the basis of the normalized first current and normalized second current so that the electron emission conditions in the electron emitter areas near the spacers and not near the spacers are substantially the same.

  • Publication number: 20080081533
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an anode panel, the anode panel including a substrate, unit phosphor regions, lattice-shaped barrier ribs, anode electrode units, and a resistor layer for electrically connecting the anode electrode units to each other, the method including the steps of: obtaining the anode electrode units by forming the barrier ribs and the unit phosphor regions on the substrate, next forming a conductive material layer on an entire surface, and then removing parts of the conductive material layer which parts are situated on barrier rib top surfaces; and forming the resistor layer; wherein a step of removing the parts of the conductive material layer which parts are situated on the barrier rib top surfaces includes a step of attaching a peeling layer to the parts of the conductive material layer which parts are situated on the barrier rib top surfaces and then mechanically peeling off the peeling layer.

  • Patent number: 6670753
Abstract: A flat panel display is provided including a baseplate for carrying a first potential, the baseplate having emitters for emitting electrons positioned thereon and a faceplate for carrying a second potential, the faceplate having phosphors thereon. The baseplate and the faceplate are hermetically sealed around the periphery to define an evacuated volume. A gate electrode for carrying a third potential causes the emitter to selectively emit electrons, which cause the phosphors to emit light and which ionize contaminant gases in the evacuated volume. A gettering material is disposed in housing connected to the evacuated volume and has a getter connection connecting the gettering material to the baseplate for applying the first potential to the gettering material, which causes the ionized contaminant gases to be attracted to and absorbed by the gettering material. The getter connection extends outside the vacuum to allow for testing of the ionized contaminant gases.
