  • Patent number: 9981558
Abstract: An electric vehicle includes a motor control unit. The motor control unit is configured to repeatedly execute a communication disruption determination for determining whether communication with a main control unit is disrupted; output a communication disruption signal when the motor control unit determines that the communication is disrupted; change a determination procedure of the communication disruption determination such that the communication disruption determination is completed in a shorter time when a crash possibility signal is received prior to the communication disruption determination, than when the crash possibility signal is not received prior to the communication disruption determination; and control a discharge circuit to discharge the electric charge of the smoothing capacitor, when the crash possibility signal is received prior to the communication disruption determination and the communication disruption signal is output.

  • Patent number: 9742337
Abstract: A power conversion apparatus includes a pair of switching elements that are connected in series between a higher potential side terminal and a lower potential side terminal to form upper and lower arms; a coil whose end is connected between the pair of switching elements; and a controller that calculates, based on a voltage between the higher potential side terminal and the lower potential side terminal and an inductance of the coil, a time rate of change of a current value of a current flowing through the coil, and switches, based on the calculated time rate of change of the current value, between a single arm drive mode in which only one of the pair of switching elements is driven to be turned on/off and a double arm drive mode in which the pair of switching elements are driven to be turned on/off in opposite phase.

  • Patent number: 8667935
Abstract: An intake/exhaust valve control device for an internal combustion engine including a cylinder having an intake valve and an exhaust valve includes: solenoids for driving at least one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve; a battery for supplying an electric current to the solenoids, a battery state predicting unit for predicting the voltage state of the battery; and an energization start timing setting unit for setting the current carrying start timing of the battery with respect to the solenoids based on the result of the prediction by the battery state predicting unit. According to the intake/exhaust valve control device, since it is possible to obtain the amount of energization necessary for driving the solenoids at an appropriate timing, it is possible to secure the responsiveness of the solenoids.

  • Patent number: 4864112
Abstract: A bar code label comprises a recording medium and a bar code recorded on a recording medium. The bar code includes a plurality of bar elements lined up parallel. Each width of bar elements is different in accordance with the kind of bar elements. The width of the bar elements is made wider than it would normally be based on its distance from the center of the bar code toward the end of the bar code.
