Patent number: 6999200Abstract: A plate-recording and printing system is provided with a printing plate recording device for recording an image on a printing plate based upon binary image data formed in an image data processing device, a printing press for carrying out a printing operation by using the printing plate, an image pickup device for picking up an image of a printed object and a profile forming device for forming profile data of the printing press from picked up image data. A printing operation is carried out under reference conditions by using predetermined ink and sheet of printing paper. An image of a color chart on the printed object is picked up by the image pickup. Print color of the color chart is determined in the Lab color system based upon image data. Printing press profile data is generated as a function of print color and predetermined reference color of the color chart. This profile data is stored in association with kinds of ink and sheets of printing paper used in the printing press.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2001Date of Patent: February 14, 2006Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 6684780Abstract: First image data is converted into numerical values in accordance with an L*a*b* color coordinate system for regions of each ink key of an ink feeding unit to obtain reference color data. A print color data operating unit processes image data, obtained from actually printed image of the first image data, by the same technique as the reference color data operation to obtain print color data. The reference color data is compared with the print color data in each ink key region, to operate differential data. The density value of each ink of Y, M, C, K is calculated from the differential data. In each color, obtained is correction data expressing the correction amount of the aperture of the ink key corresponding to this density value. A controller adjusts the aperture of the ink key of each ink feeding unit on the basis of the correction data.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2003Date of Patent: February 3, 2004Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. The image data is converted into numerical values to an L*a*b* color coordinate system for regions of each ink key of ink feeding means to obtain reference color data. The reference color data is stored in storage means. Print color data operating means processes image data, which is the actually printed image being detected by image-detecting means, by the same technique as the reference color data operation to obtain print color data. The reference color data is compared with print color data in each ink key region, to operate differential data. The density value of each ink of Y, M, C, K is calculated from the differential data. In each color, obtained is correction data expressing the correction amount of the aperture of the ink key corresponding to this density value.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2003Publication date: June 12, 2003Applicant: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Publication number: 20020080407Abstract: A controller (print control unit) comprises an image analyzing part automatically analyzing an image for printed matter and an inference part adjusting the value of a control parameter related to a printing Machine with fuzzy inference. The inference part acquires the feature of the image such as “solid”, “halftone” or “light” with the result of analysis by the image analyzing part, and decides each control parameter in response to the feature of the image. The printing machine makes printing output with the adjusted control parameter transmitted from the controller. The feature of the image may alternatively be supplied as an instruction from an operator through a feature specifying part. Thus, a print control unit capable of excellently and simply adjusting the control parameter for the printing machine in response to the feature of the printed image is provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2001Publication date: June 27, 2002Applicant: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 6130961Abstract: A color image outputting apparatus adapted to generate display image data for simulatively displaying on an image displaying apparatus a color image to be formed on a recording sheet by means of an image recording apparatus. The apparatus includes: a conversion table for converting color image data into first color image data which exclude any influences of a ground color of the recording sheet; and a ground color correction circuit for correcting the first color image data outputted from the conversion table into second color image data in consideration of the ground color of the recording sheet to be used in the image recording apparatus. A data correction process to be performed by the ground color correction circuit is determined so that a measurement result on the ground color of the recording sheet is equated with a measurement result on a background color of the image displayed on the image displaying apparatus which corresponds to the ground color of the recording sheet.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1998Date of Patent: October 10, 2000Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Patent number: 5907667Abstract: Original image data are converted to device-independent image data expressed in a device-independent color space. The device-independent image data are re-converted to device-dependent image data expressed in a device-dependent color space used in an output device. Then, a specific sharpness enhancing process is carried out for the device-dependent image data, so as to generate output image data while the specific sharpness enhancing process is made equivalent to another sharpness enhancing process executed when a target output image is generated. This sharpness of the output image with a predetermined output device substantially agrees with that of the target output image. The method significantly improves the degree of matching in image reproduction between two different output images.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Assignee: Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yasuhito Shiraishi
