  • Patent number: 4685539
Abstract: In an operating system for an elevator wherein operation means are disposed in a plurality of cages, cipher code memory means for storing predetermined operating sequences of the operation means are disposed for the respective cages, and switching means are disposed for comparing operating sequences of the corresponding operation means with the stored predetermined sequences when the operation means are operated and to switch the corresponding cages to predetermined runs when the operating sequences agree; an common cipher code alteration means is provided for altering the stored predetermined operating sequences to different operating sequences for all the cages. When the cipher code alteration means is manipulated, all the cipher code memory means are commanded to alter their cipher code contents at once, whereby the single altering manipulation suffices to complete the cipher code alterations for all the cages.

  • Patent number: 4682673
Abstract: When a plurality of preset buttons among a plurality of buttons provided on a destination call registration panel have been successively depressed in a predetermined sequence and within predetermined time intervals, the presence of a request for a special operation is determined so as to register a call to a specified floor not indicated on the panel. When the request for special operation is not determined, a call to a floor corresponding to a depressed button is registeed as usual. In this manner, the destination floor call registration panel can be used for registering cage calls under normal operation and for instructing special operation without any change.

  • Patent number: 4662479
Abstract: In an elevator having destination buttons provided on halls of a plurality of floors for appointing destination floors requested by waiting passengers, an operating apparatus for controlling operations of the elevator which is capable of tracking movement of waiting passengers that have depressed the destination buttons. Upon detecting that a passenger has gotten into the cage, only the destination call requested by this passenger is automatically registered as a cage call, whereas the destination call of a passenger not having gotten into the cage is cancelled. A destination call requested by a passenger is also cancelled under the condition that this passenger has egressed from the elevator hall.

  • Patent number: 4663723
Abstract: A demand estimation apparatus for controlling machines wherein each cycle of a demand fluctuating substantially cyclically is divided into a plurality of sections in which a processor operated under program control sets temporary boundary times of a current cycle on the basis of measured demands during the current cycle and estimated demands for corresponding sections of a previous cycle, and corrects the estimated boundary times set at the end of a previous cycle in accordance with the temporary boundary times determined for the current cycle in such a manner that the total demands in all the sections are equal or have another predetermined relationship.

  • Patent number: 4567558
Abstract: An improved system for elevator control system is disclosed in which the past traffic demand data that have occurred during a plurality of the same predetermined past unit time periods as the current time period are studied so that these past data may be reflected in the group control of the elevator operation. If the data for a day with different traffic demand from a usual value were studied during the study of past traffic demand that occurred in the course of said predetermined unit time periods, the resulting preestimation would be inaccurate. In view hereof, according to the present invention, any traffic volume data that is markedly different from the traffic demand so far encountered is not studied or, alternatively, the data for a day of the week on which the traffic demand is different from the usual value, such as Sunday, is not studied, thus enabling more accurate preestimation of traffic demand for the unit time period beginning with the current time.

  • Patent number: 4562530
Abstract: An improved traffic demand analyzing system is disclosed in which the past traffic demand data that have occurred during the same predetermined unit time periods as the current time period are computed so that the past data may be implemented in the group control of the elevator operation. The system comprises a unit for measuring and storing the traffic volume for a plurality of predetermined time periods up to the current time period, and a unit for preestimating the traffic volume for the near future through placing greater emphasis on the traffic volume associated with said predetermined time period nearer to the current time or through making use of only traffic values associated with a certain number predetermined time periods near to the current time.

  • Patent number: 4531616
Abstract: An elevator control system includes one elevator control for each elevator car, one group supervisory device for each floor connected in two ways to the elevator controls, a group supervisory accessory connected to group supervisory devices, and a statistical device connected to the group supervisory devices and also to the group supervisory accessory. The group supervisory accessory calculates a car suspending time interval at each of the forward floors in a direction of travel of the elevator car in accordance with a percentage getting-off or -on from the statistical device by considering car and floor calls and the number of passengers within the elevator car increased due to non-responding floor calls and also a presumed arrival time interval at each floor. The group supervisory devices receive those presumed arrival time intervals to assign the optimum elevator car to the desired floor call through an associated one of the elevator controls.

  • Patent number: 4509143
Abstract: A computer control system for a controlled apparatus such as an elevator executes operation with a plurality of standard programs corresponding to the conventional standard elevator relay circuits, the plurality of standard programs being stored in a ROM (Read Only Memory) device. The computer control system is equipped with a special program corresponding to at least one of the plurality of standard programs, and the special program is stored in a ROM device. If the elevator is to operate in a standard mode, the computer control system operates using only the standard ROM devices. If the elevator is to operate in a modified mode, the computer control system operates using the standard ROMs together with the special ROM, a control signal corresponding to this special ROM device being employed as a valid control signal. In both modes of operation, the standard program is not modified.

  • Patent number: 4483418
Abstract: An elevator control system includes an ROM device having control data common to all elevator cars stored therein, and a setting device having a plurality of switches which are selectively closed and opened to designate the ordinal binary numbers of floors of a building served by an associated elevator car. When the building has many floors, the setting device may similarly designate the ordinal binary number of the lower ten floors and those of the remaining floors are additionally stored in the ROM device.

  • Patent number: 4410959
Abstract: A control device for an elevator system in which an operating program for the elevator can readily be changed by the addition of a read-only memory containing only instructions needed for modifying control signals computed by a standard program. To the standard computerized control device of an elevator system is added a further read-only memory and a further random access memory. The read-only memory stores programs which modify the computational results produced as a result of executing the standard programs. The computational results produced by executing the standard programs are stored in the added random access memory, there modified as a result of executing the special program stored in the added read-only memory, and then transferred to another random access memory for transfer to the devices which perform the direct control of the elevator cage of the system.
