  • Patent number: 6634246
Abstract: A recirculating-ball nut and screw set mounted with a lubrication device effective in improving the sliding characteristic and also realizing maintenance-free lubrication. The lubrication device is mainly comprised of a lubricating plate accommodated in a holder attached to a ball nut. The lubricating plate is made with a tongue that will come into sliding engagement with a helical groove formed around a screw shaft. The lubricating plate is made of a sintered resinous component of porous structure in which cells are impregnated with lubricant.

  • Patent number: 5800064
Abstract: In this linear motion rolling guide unit, return passages are formed by sleeves fitted in return bores in the casing, and these sleeves are made elastically deformable, so that they can offset the slide resistance of rolling elements and secure the smooth rolling of the rolling elements. In this linear motion rolling guide unit, sleeves extending over the whole length of the return bores in the casing and forming return passages for cylindrical rollers are fitted in the return bores, and clearances, in which the sleeves can be elastically deformed, are provided between the inner surfaces of the return bores and the outer surfaces of the smaller-diameter portions of the sleeves. The sleeves are provided with slits extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, and both end portions of the sleeves are held in the return bores in the casing.

  • Patent number: 5289779
Abstract: A linear motion rolling contact guide unit includes a rail elongated in shape, a slider slidably mounted on the rail and a plurality of rolling members interposed between the rail and the slider. The rail has a top surface, a pair of side surfaces and a bottom surface, and a guide groove is formed in each of the side surfaces with a tapered relief trench formed at the bottom of the guide groove. A side recess is also formed in each of the side surfaces. The slider is provided with an end seal having a first seal lip at each of front and rear ends and also with a bottom seal having a second seal lip. The first seal lip is in sliding contact with the top surface and also with the guide groove and the tapered relief trench and the second seal lip is in sliding contact with the side recess of the rail.

  • Patent number: 5250126
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a rail for use in a linear motion rolling contact guide unit is provided. A rail intermediate product having a top surface, a pair of side surfaces, each formed with a guide groove portion, and a bottom surface is provided by drawing from an alloy steel material. Then the guide groove portion is hardened by induction hardening. The side surface is then ground by a profiled grinder having a grinding shape complementary to the shape of a side surface of a finished rail.
