  • Patent number: 4996591
Abstract: There is provided a color image processing apparatus in which, by making use of an image reading apparatus of a digital full-color copying apparatus, the designated color to be obtained after conversion is input and stored as component ratio of color-separated image data, and monochromatic image data proportional to the gradation levels, e.g., density, lightness, luminance and so forth are obtained from the color separated image data produced from the original image, the monochromatic image data thus obtained being converted into the color separation data corresponding to the component ratio of the designated color to be obtained after conversion, thereby making it possible to preserve the hue of the designated color and to effect color conversion to the designated color having gradation proportional to the gradation of the original image.

  • Patent number: 4969053
Abstract: A color film reading apparatus of this invention has holding means for holding a color negative film therein; illuminating means for projecting illumination light onto the color negative film; reading means for reading image data from the color negative film; shading correcting means for performing shading correction; and controlling means for controlling the reading means to cause the reading means to read data relative to an unexposed portion of the color negative film to thereby obtain shading correction data for the shading correcting means. The apparatus is capable of generating high-gradation color signals from either of color negative and positive films. This invention further provides an image forming apparatus capable of producing a high-gradation image from either of a film-type original document or a reflection-type original document.

  • Patent number: 4922335
Abstract: A color film reading apparatus capable of generating high-gradation color signals from either a color negative or positive film includes a holding device for holding a color negative film, illuminating apparatus for projecting illumination light onto the color negative film, a reading unit for reading image data from the light projected through the color negative film, and shading circuitry for performing shading correction. Control circuitry controls the reading unit to cause the reading unit to raed data from an unexposed portion of the negative to obtain shading correction data. In the case of a positive film, the controlling circuitry sets the shading correction data on the basis of data obtained from the illumination light. Further, a high-gradation color image may be obtained from either a film original or a reflection from an original document.

  • Patent number: 4721553
Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses of several types for forming a film at an increased rate that is necessary for putting the microwave assisting sputtering into practice on an industrial scale. The feature resides in that a plasma is maintained uniformly on the whole surface of target composed of a material to be sputtered. This makes it possible to avoid the target from being thermally destroyed by the increased energy of sputtering. Further, in order to prevent damage on a substrate on which the film is to be sputtered by plasma for sputtering, consideration is given to the arrangement of magnetic devices in order to form the film by positively introducing the plasma onto the substrate on which the film is to be formed and, at the same time, effecting the sputtering.

  • Patent number: 4610770
Abstract: A pair of magnets for producing a mirror magnetic field are disposed outside of an electrode structure carrying a target. Microwaves from a microwave source are introduced toward and into a space defined by the mirror magnetic field for generating high-density plasma. While maintaining this high-density plasma over a wide area of the surface of the target, an electric field substantially perpendicular to the surface of the target is applied for sputtering of the target material. The optimized conditions for plasma generation can be selected when the high-density plasma formed outside of a processing chamber is guided to migrate toward an area above the target in the processing chamber. Capability of sputtering of the material from the entire surface of the target increases the rate of film deposition on a substrate and improves the target utilization rate (the quantity of the material deposited on the substrate/the usable area of the target).
