  • Publication number: 20240121520
Abstract: An image generation apparatus increases an adjustment amount of a luminance distribution to a target value B at a time t0 at which an amount of light entering the eyes of a user changes to such a degree that the change has an influence on an action of photoreceptor cells, to thereby cause a head-mounted display to display an image 310b having a luminance increased from that of an original image 310a. The image generation apparatus gradually decreases the adjustment amount of the luminance distribution during a restoration period ?t in such a manner that an image 310c having the original luminance distribution is displayed at a later time t1.

  • Patent number: 9507165
Abstract: Influences of physiological stereoscopic elements are removed by image processing using projection transformation. A horopter-plane image projection unit 311 is designed to project a non-stereo image supplied via a signal line 129 onto a cylindrical plane (horopter plane) including a horopter circle. The size of the horopter circle is specified using, for example, the radius as horopter circle information. Additionally, the relationship with two eyes is specified by the interocular distance. A display surface right-eye projection unit 316 is designed to project an image projected on the horopter plane onto a display surface for the right eye. A display surface left-eye projection unit 317 is designed to project the image projected on the horopter plane onto a display surface for the left eye. Therefore, retinal images that are identical to each other are supplied to the two eyes to remove influences of physiological stereoscopic elements, and stereoscopic depth is given.

  • Patent number: 8427530
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an input unit, a computing unit, a determining unit, and a 3D image processor. The input unit receives filter width information indicating the vertical size of each line constituting a polarizing filter, as well as position correction information indicating positional misalignment of the polarizing filter. The computing unit computes determination regions for each pixel on the basis of the information. The determination regions are used to determine whether individual pixels constituting a 3D image to be output are contained in a right-eye or a left-eye image region. On the basis of the determination regions, the determining unit determines whether each pixel is contained in a right-eye image region or a left-eye image region. The 3D image processor creates a 3D image from a right-eye image and a left-eye image according to pixel positions determined on the basis of determination results.

  • Publication number: 20110293170
Abstract: The format of an input image is determined appropriately, and an appropriate output image adapted to a format that can be displayed on a display section is displayed. An image format determining section 120 determines whether an image inputted to an image input section 110 is in the image format for a plane display image or is in the image format for a stereo display image. A displayable format determining section 160 determines a displayable format of an output image which can be displayed on an image display section 170. An operational input accepting section 150 accepts the output format of the output image displayed on the image display section 170 as a designated display format. An output format determining section 130 determines the output format of the output image on the basis of the image format, the displayable format, and the designated display format.
