    Abstract: An anomaly monitoring device (10) is installed in an IGCC plant that experiences varying loads, and the device monitors a heat exchanger (20) that performs heat exchange between a carbon-containing fuel and a heat exchange medium flowing through a heat transfer tube (24). For each load on the IGCC plant, the anomaly monitoring device (10) calculates the average value and the standard deviation of a state quantity of the heat exchanger (20), calculates the Mahalanobis distance on the basis of the average value and the standard deviation, and from the calculated Mahalanobis distance determines the presence or absence of an anomaly of the heat transfer surface (28) of the heat transfer tube (24). Due to this configuration, the anomaly monitoring device (10) can more reliably detect an anomaly of the heat exchanger (20).

By doing so, blockage of the slag hole (16) or the throat portion (17) with char and a sintered material (50) falling from the heat exchanger (20) is prevented, enabling stable operation of a coal gasification furnace (101).

The gas turbine power plant includes a coal gasifier including a coal gasifier unit that gasifies a fuel containing carbon to produce a synthetic gas and a water-cooled wall duct disposed on the coal gasifier unit and to which a coolant, i.e., water, is directed; a gas turbine combustor that combusts the synthetic gas to produce combustion gas; a gas turbine rotated by the combustion gas produced by the gas turbine combustor; and a generator that generates electrical power. The amount of fuel fed to the coal gasifier is controlled depending on the amount of heat absorbed by the coolant directed to the water-cooled wall duct.

    Abstract: Provided is a gas cooler for cooling a produced gas on a side from which the produced gas exits, the produced gas being produced by partially oxidizing and gasifying a carbon-containing fuel in a gasification furnace inside a pressure vessel. A distance (SL) between tubes of a tube bundle of a heat exchanger provided inside the gas cooler is set such that the tubes are in contact with each other or adjacent to each other in a gas-flow direction of the produced gas. Since the tubes are in contact with each other or adjacent to each other, a particle flowing with the gas flow is only deposited as a deposited particle in a concave portion between the tubes, whereby the decrease in heat exchange efficiency caused by particle deposition can be suppressed.

    Abstract: A char recycling system capable of easily determining whether or not a char exhausting pipe is blocked by char. The char recycling system comprises: a stand pipe (31) forming a vertically-downwards flowpath (33) through which char is conveyed; and a differential pressure gauge (41) that measures the pressure difference between the pressure in a downstream area (45) in the vertically-downwards flowpath (33) and the pressure in an upstream area (46) in the vertically-downwards flowpath (33). The pressure difference fluctuates when char accumulates between the downstream area (45) and the upstream area (46) in the vertically-downwards flowpath (33). As a result, this kind of char recovery system is capable of easily determining whether or not the vertically-downwards flowpath (33) is blocked by char, on the basis of the measured pressure difference.
