  • Patent number: 8089548
Abstract: An image processing device appropriately extracts an entire object from an image even if the object is not completely included in an initial region designated by a user. The image processing device includes: a designation unit designating a position on the image; a setting unit setting a first combination consisting of a first object region candidate and a first background region candidate, and a second combination; a histogram generation unit generating a normalized color histogram of each of the regions; a similarity calculation unit calculating a similarity regarding each of the combinations; and a selection unit configured to select a combination from the first and second combinations so that the selected combination has the similarity lower than the similarity of the non-selected combination.

  • Publication number: 20110241991
Abstract: Provided is a tracking object selection apparatus (1a) which selects a tracking object (103xm). The tracking object selection apparatus (1a) includes a synthesis unit (306) which synthesizes an input image (9Ib) and an image (93) so that the image is disposed at a predetermined position (92P), a display unit (307), and a selection unit (308) which selects, as the tracking object (103xm) in a predetermined process, a detected object (301x) when an operation (104L2) is performed on the image (92) displayed at the predetermined position (92P).

  • Publication number: 20110122254
Abstract: Images of a target are stably tracked even when an image-capture environment changes.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20110102454
Abstract: The detection result and brightness information of a specific region are stored, and once latest image data is input, the degree of importance is calculated based on the stored detection result and brightness information and the detection result and brightness information of the specific region in the latest image. Based on the degree of importance, whether to display specific region information is determined. The brightness information is calculated based on the detection result of the specific region.

  • Publication number: 20110090345
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is provided which is capable of stably tracking a target even when an amount of characteristics of an image of the target varies on input pictures due to an abrupt movement of the target or other causes. An image processing apparatus (10) which tracks an image of a target on an input image includes a blur detection unit (12) detecting a trajectory of blur that is a trajectory indicating blur in a search region on the input picture, the search region including the image of the target and being determined using a picture captured temporally before the input picture; and a tracking processing unit (13) tracking the image of the target by specifying a target region using an end point of the trajectory of blur detected by the blur detection unit (12), the target region being a region including the image of the target and being smaller than the search region.

  • Publication number: 20110001840
Abstract: A tracking processing unit (137) performs a search in a frame using a color feature amount of an object and determines a target area estimated to include the image of the object based on the first evaluation value indicating a degree of matching between a search result and the object. An update detection circuit (139) performs a search in the frame using a shape feature amount of the object, calculates a second evaluation value, and determines an update area for updating a first feature amount based on the second evaluation value indicating a degree of matching between the search result and the object. An update determination circuit (140) determines whether or not to update the first feature amount. A tracking result drawing circuit (144) draws an outer frame of the target area when determined not to update, and draws that of the update area when determined to update.
