Abstract: A metal hollow golf club head includes a head main body, a top plate, and a face plate. The head main body includes both side edges and a rear edge of the crown portion, both side edges of a face portion, and a side portion integrally. The top plate includes a crown main portion, which is other member of the crown portion than the both side edges and rear edge of the crown portion, and an upper edge of the face portion integrally. The face plate includes a face main portion, which is other member of the face portion than the both side edges and upper edge of the face portion. The head main body, the top plate, and the face plate are coupled. Metal material of the top plate has longitudinal elastic modulus lower than metal materials of the head main body and face plate.

Abstract: A golf club head having a head body, a face plate fixedly attached to the front surface of the head body, a weight fixedly attached to the front surface of the sole portion of the head body, and an elastic body charged into a first recess portion of the golf club head. The elastic body is compressed to stick fast to the rear surface of the face plate. The lower portion of the head body having first and second recess portions is formed as a bulging portion bulging at the rear of the head body. The JIS C hardness of the elastic body is preferably 15-80, more preferably 18-70, most preferably 20-60.

Abstract: A hollow golf club head has a face portion, a sole portion, a side portion, a crown portion, and a hosel portion. A main portion of the crown portion is made of fiber reinforced plastic. At least the face portion and the front edge portion of the crown portion continuing to the face portion are made of metal. A circumferential edge portion of the crown portion made of fiber reinforced plastic is joined to the rear end surface and the internal surface of the metal front edge portion of the crown portion.

Abstract: A head body of a golf club head has a hollow portion defined by an outer wall. An opening portion is provided in a part of the head body. A small tungsten alloy piece having a shape fittable to the opening portion so as to cover the opening portion is fixedly attached to the opening portion by welding. The golf club head defines the opening portion in a part of the metal head body and has the small tungsten alloy piece fitted and joined to the opening portion by welding so that the golf club head can be reduced in weight because of provision of the hollow portion. Since the small tungsten alloy piece is joined to the opening portion by welding, difficult plastic forming is not required particularly, and the weight can be adjusted easily and accurately.
