  • Patent number: 5094222
Abstract: This invention provides a catalytic composite for decomposing fats and oils, and a heating cooker having the catalytic composite mounted therein. The catalytic composite comprises a porous sheet made of ceramic fibers and/or metal fibers, and a catalyst. The catalytic composite is capable of decomposing oil grease or stains deposited on the inner wall of a heating cooker and cooking exhausts emitted in the process of cooking by oxidation, at relatively low temperatures.

  • Patent number: 4968656
Abstract: A mixed oxide comprising oxides of Ce, Cu and Mn wherein an atomic ratio of Ce to a total atom number of Cu and Mn is from 1:2 to 2:1 and the metals are present in the mixed oxide in the oxide forms of CeO.sub.2 and Cu.sub.x Mn.sub.3-x O.sub.4 wherein x is a number larger than 0 (zero) and less than 3, which can catalyze the oxidation of organic materials.

  • Patent number: 4556048
Abstract: A solar heat collector comprising a polyolefin resin heat collecting base, produced by blow molding, to which first and second coating layers have been applied to overcome the high infrared radiation and poor adhesive characteristics of polyolefins. The first coating layer, principally composed of at least one resin selected from thermoplastic acrylic resins and alkyd resins, and chlorinated polyolefin resins, epoxy resins and metallic powders, is applied onto the polyolefin resin base and the second coating layer, having solar selective absorptivity, is applied onto the first coating layer; thereby providing an inexpensive solar collector that is both durable and reliable despite exposure to harsh environments.

  • Patent number: 4113839
Abstract: Nitrogen oxides removal method wherein nitrogen oxides are removed from a gas by bringing the gas into contact with a granulated material containing an alkali and cement material, active carbon and a binder. The active carbon promotes an absorption reaction between the alkali material and nitrogen oxides, the cement material provides a porous but strong structure to the material, and the binder permits longer use of the material in a wide range of conditions.
