  • Patent number: 7806790
Abstract: A slippage detection system for a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a ratio between a speed of rotation of an input member and a speed of rotation of an output member is provided. The slippage detection system calculates a correlation coefficient relating to the input rotation speed and the output rotation speed, based on a plurality of measurement values of the input rotation speed and a plurality of measurement values of the output rotation speed, and determines slippage of the torque transmitting member in the continuously variable transmission based on the calculated correlation coefficient.

  • Publication number: 20100197454
Abstract: A slippage detection system for a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a gear ratio between an input rotation speed of an input member and an output rotation speed of an output member is provided. The slippage detection system compares a difference between an actual gear ratio calculated from measurement values of the input rotation speed and the output rotation speed and a target gear ratio with a predetermined reference value, and determines slippage in the continuously variable transmission when the difference exceeds the reference value at least a predetermined number of times in a predetermined period of time.

  • Publication number: 20100197455
Abstract: A slippage detection system for a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a gear ratio between an input rotation speed of an input member and an output rotation speed of an output member is provided. The slippage detection system calculate a sum of differences between an actual gear ratio calculated from measurement values of the input rotation speed and the output rotation speed and a target gear ratio over a predetermined period of time, and determines slippage in the continuously variable transmission based on the sum of differences.

  • Patent number: 7666110
Abstract: A control system of a power transmission mechanism, in which a transmission torque capacity between transmission members varies according to a pressure to be applied to the transmission members and in which the pressure to be applied to the transmission members is controlled on the basis of such a slip condition between the transmission members as accompanies the lowering of the pressure. The control system comprises: a pressure lowering device for lowering the pressure by a preset value; and a pressure setter for setting the pressure, in case the slip between the transmission members is not detected even by lowering the pressure by a preset value with the pressure lowering device, on the basis of the lowered minimum value of the pressure.

  • Patent number: 7188717
Abstract: A control apparatus for a power train including a continuously variable transmission and a clutch arranged in series with the continuously variable transmission is provided in which an engaging pressure of the clutch is first reduced until a slip occurs, and is then increased after detection of the slip so as to re-engage the clutch, and an engaging pressure of the clutch to be established is calculated by giving an excess pressure to the engaging pressure at which the clutch is re-engaged, such that an excess amount of the transmitted torque of the clutch is set smaller than that of the continuously variable transmission. The control apparatus is adapted to determine a learned value as a correction value of the engaging pressure that is set in advance in accordance with an input torque applied to the clutch, based on the engaging pressure calculated by giving the excess pressure to the engaging pressure at which the clutch is re-engaged.

  • Publication number: 20020155910
Abstract: A thrust ratio calculation section 50 calculates a thrust ratio based on driving pulley thrust from a driving pulley thrust calculation section 44 and following pulley thrust from a following pulley thrust calculation section 48. A thrust ratio state of change identifying section 52 detects a peak of a thrust ratio caused by changing of the following pulley thrust, based on the thrust ratio and the following pulley thrust. The following pulley thrust is maintained such that the thrust ratio remains at the peak. This enables appropriate control of the pulley thrust.

  • Patent number: 5954177
Abstract: An oil seal member is compressed between a connecting pipe for supplying oil to an oil chamber of a hydraulic servo and the cylinder drum of the hydraulic servo. The cylinder drum has an interior oil chamber and turns through a predetermined angle upon operation of a frictional engagement element by the hydraulic servo. The end of the seal member pressed against the cylindrical drum surrounds an oil hole 73 formed in the cylindrical drum, and oil pressure is supplied to the oil chamber through an oil passage in which the seal member is mounted and through the oil hole. A recess is formed in the outer surface of the cylindrical drum around the oil hole and the end of the seal member is received in the recess. When the cylindrical member turns within the predetermined angular range, the end of the seal member is protected by the recess. As a result, the end of the seal member is not damaged and the integrity of the seal is protected.

  • Patent number: 5797108
Abstract: Disclosed is a slip detecting device for a motor vehicle mounted with an automatic transmission. The slip detecting device is provided with a device for detecting a rotational speed of the specific part in a driving system, whereby occurrence of a driving wheel slip is detected based on the speed variation state in the rotational speed such as the gradient of variation in the output shaft rotational speed when shifting. Therefore, a driving wheel slip can be detected at a low cost, regardless of the accelerator pressed condition.

  • Patent number: 5679092
Abstract: A gear-shift control system of an automatic transmission, in which gear shift schedule is appropriately changed-over in correspondence with the change of a road surface situation. Low-friction road surface detection device detects a low-friction road surface so as to select the gear shift schedule for the low-friction road surface adopted to start the motor vehicle with second gear. After the selection, a holding device holds the gear shift schedule for the low-friction road surface until an accelerator is pressed next.
