  • Patent number: 5142116
Abstract: A wire cutting electric discharge machine with a wire guide roller having a V-shaped groove beneath the workpiece, and a wire guide between the guide roller and a conveyor belt.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 1990
Date of Patent: August 25, 1992
    Assignee: Amada Wasino Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Shigeharu Yokomichi, Yasunori Ono
  • Patent number: 5064983
Abstract: An electric discharge wire cutting machine with one nozzle above the workpiece and another nozzle beneath the workpiece, one of the nozzles having a shape obtained by rotating an arc of a circle about the central axis of the conical configuration of the nozzle. This shape allows the working fluid to be smoothly expelled and to prevent the formation of gas bubbles by the wire in the working zone which might prevent adequate cooling of the wire and thereby cuase the wire to break.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 1990
Date of Patent: November 12, 1991
    Assignee: Amada Wasino Co., Ltd.

  • Patent number: 4970362
Abstract: A wire-cutting electric discharge machining device comprises a process precision detection device. The process precision detection device detects process error by measuring spacings between the wire electrode, which will be moved along a predetermined measurement path, and a processed edge of the workpiece, in which the measurement path is set substantially a parallel to a processed edge of the product. The process precision detection device measures the spacing between the wire electrode and the processed edge of the product by moving the wire electrode from a measurement point on the measurement path to the edge of the product while detecting electrical voltage between the wire electrode and the product.

  • Patent number: 4675492
Abstract: A nozzle lifting apparatus for a wire cutting electric discharge machine consisting of a nozzle for supplying a processing liquid or dielectric fluid to the electric discharge section of a workpiece, the nozzle being provided on the lower section of an elevating rod vertically movably supported by an upper arm; a slide member provided vertically movably on the inside of a guide frame integrally provided on the elevating rod; and an elevating activation rod supported on the upper arm for vertically activating the elevating rod through the slide member and interlockingly linked to the slide member. A concave section formed in the guide frame of the nozzle lifting apparatus is provided with a shock absorbing member. The slide is also located in the concave section.
