  • Patent number: 5510908
Abstract: In an image forming device including an image reading device, dot signals for one scanning line are detected by a CCD sensor. After their A/D conversion and shading-correction, the detected signals are supplied to a comparison processor. In the comparison processor, the dot signals corresponding to the leading and tailing edges of the original are detected from the dot signals for the one scanning line. The rest of the dot signals are judged to be those other than from the original in the selector, and converted into white dot signals. Consequently, the region other than the original is formed in white for each line. Thus, regardless of the original sheet size, or even if the sheet is obliquely placed, the region other than the original can be detected, and the region can be erased by adding a white background.

  • Patent number: 5127086
Abstract: An printer apparatus is provided with keys which allow the easy correction of an operating mistake. When an operation mode requiring entry of a large number of commands or requiring a complicated key operation is established, the user may make an error in command entries. However, such an error can be easily corrected by operating the keys. Accordingly, the manipulation of the image-forming apparatus is easy, and the cost needed to produce copies can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5083216
Abstract: A photoelectric converter reads the image of a document line by line. A magnification setting key provided on an operation panel serves to set the copying magnification. When an enlarged magnification is set by the magnification setting key, a magnification processor produces density data of an image to be output, by means of a linear interpolation method, from the image read by the photoelectric converter. When a reduced magnification is set by the magnification setting key, the magnification processor produces density data of the image to be output, by means of a projection method, from the image read by the photoelectric converter. A thermal head transfers ink from an ink ribbon onto a sheet of paper, in accordance with the image density data output from the magnification processor.

  • Patent number: 4857954
Abstract: An image-forming apparatus is provided with a photosensitive drum rotatably located in a housing, and a developing device for developing the latent image formed on the surface of the photosensitive drum. A first developing unit of the developing device develops the latent image by a first red developing agent. A second developing unit develops the latent image by a second black developing agent. • Patent number: 4831462
Abstract: In one aspect of the present invention, an image forming section forms an image corresponding to the image data on an image receiving medium by selectively using at least first and second image forming media different from each other. A gradation determinator determines first and second gradation methods corresponding to the first and second image forming media which are selectively used. A first gradation section performs gradation conversion corresponding to the first gradation method. A second gradation section performs gradation conversion corresponding to the second gradation method. A controller supplies the image data to the image forming section through the first or second gradation section in response to a determination result from the gradation determinator so that the image forming section forms a halftone-controlled image. In another aspect of the present invention, a color image data output section outputs color image data to be formed on an image receiving medium as a main image.

  • Patent number: 4743963
Abstract: In a color picture image forming apparatus wherein manuscript picture image data read optically is decomposed into color signals of a plurality of types, the color decomposed picture image data is temporarily stored in a memory device, and a picture image recording device is driven by the stored picture image data for reproducing on a copying paper a color picture image corresponding to a manuscript picture image, at the time of enlarging or reducing the size of the picture image, a read address signal of the memory device corresponding to a set magnification or reduction degree is formed, and the read address signal thus formed is supplied to the memory device thereby enlarging or reducing the size of the reproduced color picture image. The color data, which may be RGB data, is stored sequentially in the memory means and is selectively read out in accordance with previously-determined read control data determined on the basis of the set magnification or reduction degree.

  • Patent number: 4678316
Abstract: A copying or printing machine including a microcomputer having a random access memory in which a set of coded signals may be written in and read out; a read only memory having a sequence control program for accomplishing a copying or printing operation; a processing unit operative for reproducing a copy of an original; a power supply for energizing the machine; and a power reducing device for reducing electric power to be supplied to an image fixing portion of the machine by the power supply so that less electric power is consumed than in normal standby status. If an interrupt mode is established during a copy run, copying conditions relevant to the previous copy run are stored in the RAM and an interrupt copy run is performed. During the interrupt mode, the power reducing device is inhibited from reducing electric power to be supplied to the image fixing portion of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4674862
Abstract: A copying apparatus which prevents a document manually placed on the document-support plate from being damaged by the subsequent automatic feeding of other documents to the document-support plate. The apparatus includes a document feeder for feeding the automatically-fed documents to a copying position on the document-support plate. The document feeder is rotatable between a first position where it is adjacent the document-support plate, and a second position where it is not adjacent the document-support plate. Control means are provided for preventing the document feeder from providing an automatically-fed document to the copying position when the last copying operation was performed on a manually positioned document. The controller includes a flag memory which stores a first signal when a manually positioned document has been copied, and a second signal when an automatically-fed document has been copied.

  • Patent number: 4595189
Abstract: The invention provides a paper feeder apparatus having first and second automatic paper feeder mechanisms and a manual paper feeder mechanism. The paper feeder apparatus performs automatic feed using the manual paper feeder mechanism and the first automatic paper feeder mechanism. The paper feeder apparatus also has the second paper feeder mechanism which is detachably mounted in the manual paper feeder mechanism. Furthermore, the paper feeder apparatus has a display unit. When the second automatic paper feeder mechanism is mounted in the copying machine, a display control circuit (microcomputer) controls to display a sign at the display unit to indicate which one of the first and second paper feeder mechanisms is selected.
