  • Patent number: 4766466
Abstract: Improvements in a variable magnification projecting device for use in electrophotographic copying machines or the like to overcome the objections encountered when the magnification is varied greatly, such as a great amount of shift of the projection lens which requires a prolonged period of time, and a large amount of shift of a mirror in an undesirable direction. Variations between the same-size magnification and enlarged magnifications are effected by shifting the projection lens and at least a mirror in the rear of the lens, while variations between the same-size magnification and reduced magnifications are made by shifting the projection lens and at least mirrors in front of the lens.

  • Patent number: 4679465
Abstract: A transmission which comprises eccentric swing gears composed of a speed change internal gear and a speed change external gear each having a pressure angle of a tooth form within 30.degree. to 45.degree. and an addendum h satisfying the relation of m/2>h>0 (m=module), the speed change external gear engaging with the speed change internal gear therein, and coupling gears composed of a coupling internal gear having a trapezoidal or a substantially trapezoidal tooth form and a coupling external gear similarly having a trapezoidal or a substantially trapezoidal tooth form and having the same number of teeth as the coupling internal gear, the coupling external gear engaging with the coupling internal gear therein, the tooth forms of the coupling internal and external gears being molded so that the following relation may be satisfied between .theta..sub.1 and .theta..sub.2 :.theta..sub.2 =(360.degree./Z.times.1/2)+.theta..sub.

  • Patent number: 4653898
Abstract: A scan type anamorphic magnifying apparatus provided with a scanning device for scanning an original document in form of a slit, an image forming device for projecting and forming an image of the scanned document on a photosensitive member, and a device for substantially continuously varying a moving speed of the scanning device relative to a moving speed of the photosensitive member to permit the image of the document to be formed on the photosensitive member in varied magnifications. The apparatus further comprises an anamorphic optical unit movable into and out of a projection optical path leading to the photosensitive member. This optical unit is moved out of the optical path when anamorphic magnification is in a range close to "1" and into the optical path when the magnification is in a range far from "1".

  • Patent number: 4518249
Abstract: The present invention concerns with a slit illumination system for use in a copying machine or the like, which includes a light source, a first and second elliptical mirrors, a third plane mirror, and a supplemental mirror positioned behind the light source and between the first and second mirrors. The supplemental mirror directs the light which does not contribute to the illumination by the first and second mirror to the original through a light path extending directly to the original and/or a light path extending to the original through the third mirror.

  • Patent number: 4344696
Abstract: There is provided an arrangement for driving reciprocating members, which is for use in the optical system of an electrophotographic copying machine of the scanning exposure type. The optical system is actuated to have an initial velocity through the resilient force caused by each of spring members subsequent to alternate arrivals to respective end positions of scanning and returning movements. After having obtained the predetermined velocity either for the scanning, or the return operation, the optical system is actuated to be electrically driven for the purpose through the actuation of a clutch.
