  • Patent number: 6728809
Abstract: The present invention is built on a time out control apparatus to control the time out when a packet is transferred between terminal units connected to different buses. In the time out control apparatus, delay measuring means measures the delay time required for a response packet to be received after a request packet is sent to a terminal unit (control unit) connected via a bus. Delay information list generating means generates a delay information list in which the delay times measured by the delay measuring means are related to the individual identification information on the respective terminal units. Information output means reads out the delay time from the delay information list in accordance with a request from the terminal unit and outputs the delay time to the terminal unit. This sets the delay time on the time out register of the terminal unit.

  • Patent number: 6311243
Abstract: A serial bus control apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a device for providing a reservation control table for reserving a transmission bandwidth and a transmission channel used at a future time on a serial bus. The reservation control table is organized such that transmission of data of certain bandwidth and channel at a certain future time can be reserved for a transmission between arbitrary nodes. The reservation control table is stored and controlled on a first register. The register is accessible for reading and writing from an arbitrary node on the serial bus. The apparatus may further include a detection part to detect present time and a second and third register for securing available transmission bandwidth and channel at present time. By having this reservation control table, it becomes possible for each node on the serial bus to secure transmission of data of certain bandwidth and transmission channel in a desired future time.

  • Patent number: 6115537
Abstract: In a digital signal recording and reproducing apparatus, digital input data is transmitted in a transmission packet format and is recorded in a recording packet format. In a recording stage, an auxiliary signal generator (3) generates an auxiliary signal for special reproduction in the transmission packet format, and the digital and auxiliary signals are converted into respective recording packets by means of recording signal converters (5, 6). Recording means (9, 10) performs a specific recording process on the recording packets and an identification signal for identifying between the recording packets of the digital signal and of the auxiliary signal. While in a reproducing stage, reproduction signal processing means (14, 15) performs a specific reproduction process on the reproduction signal to thereby reconstruct the recording packets and the identification signal.

  • Patent number: 5953486
Abstract: A recording apparatus for recording digital signals to plural tracks formed sequentially on a tape using plural heads includes a first selector for selecting the first through n track sets, continuous tracks within the plural tracks formed on the tape. A disposer disposes the first through k separated high speed reproduction data areas to the same positions in each of the m tracks comprising the first through n track sets. A first recording unit records the same high speed reproduction data to the same track position in at least the tracks having the same azimuth within the m*k high speed reproduction data areas belonging to the same track set. A second selector selects the n+1 through n+N, each track set comprising M tracks selected from among the tracks to which the high speed reproduction data areas are not disposed. A second disposer disposes a continuous very-high speed reproduction data area to the same position in each of the M tracks forming the n+1 through n+N track sets.

  • Patent number: 5381107
Abstract: In a time-base inversion type linear phase filter, an input signal is time-base inverted, and thereafter delayed. The delayed signal is time-base inverted back to the original time sequence and then filtered by a first IIR filter. First and second selectors alternately select the time-base inverted signal and the delayed signal in opposite phases to each other. Output signals of the selectors are filtered by second and third IIR filters and then alternately selected by a third selector. An output of the third selector is time-base inverted back to the original time sequence and added to an output of the first IIR filter. A nonlinear emphasis/de-emphasis apparatus is constituted by using this linear phase filter.

  • Patent number: 5321518
Abstract: In a video signal recording/reproducing apparatus for emphasizing an input video signal, recording by adding an additional signal necessary for recording, and de-emphasizing when reproducing, the emphasis processing is stopped on the time axis in a period in which the additional signal is to be added. Besides, by adding an additional signal before emphasis processing, the waveform deterioration in the end portion of the effective period occurring due to the addition of additional signal after emphasis processing is decreased, and a favorable waveform reproduction is realized over the entire period of the effective portions.

  • Patent number: 5299003
Abstract: A signal processing apparatus for changing the frequency characteristics of an input signal, e.g.--a video or audio signal, allows a signal to pass through a transmission circuit in a positive time sequence and then, allows the signal to be transmitted through another transmission circuit having the same transmission characteristics in a reverse time sequence with respect to the positive time sequence. Also, while the transmission circuit is arranged to have a zero-phase characteristic, each segment of a continuous signal is processed throughout a period which is equal to at least two times a duration of an impulse response direction of the transmission circuit. Accordingly, unwanted wave errors appearing at discontinuous regions of the signals are eliminated.
