Patent number: 6083638Abstract: A current collector includes a thin porous substrate and a hydrophilic material, where the hydrophilic material is provided to holes of the thin porous substrate or surfaces of skeleton elements of the porous substrate so that hydrophilic areas formed by the hydrophilic material successively pass through the thin porous substrate between both surfaces of the thin porous substrate. In the current collector, water is let out through the hydrophilic areas and does not stay on an interface between an electrode and the current collector so that reaction gas is not hampered and is supplied, unlike a conventional current collector. When the current collector is applied to a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, water is supplied with reliability through the hydrophilic areas to a polymer electrolyte membrane so that the polymer electrolyte membrane is effectively humidified.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1998Date of Patent: July 4, 2000Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shunsuke Taniguchi, Akira Hamada, Yasuo Miyake, Minuro Kaneko

Patent number: 6045319Abstract: A carrier transport device is provided with a stator table comprised of a plurality of stators 4 which themselves are comprised of cores 2 and coils 3, and a carrier C in which permanent magnets m1-m4 are provided such that by passing an appropriate current through the coil, the cores of the stators are magnetized. The attraction or repulsion generated between the cores of the stators and the permanent magnets of the carrier is used to transport the carrier along the stator table in two dimensions. This carrier transport device allows for transport of a carrier in two dimensions with a simple design for quick transport of a carrier, and for reliably bringing the carrier to a stop at a predetermined location.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1998Date of Patent: April 4, 2000Assignee: Murata Kikai Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroshi Uchida, Yasuo Hisa, Yasuo Miyake, Sanpei Kinoshita

Patent number: 5975963Abstract: A female terminal has a structure that does not allow molten solder to close a pipe section into which male terminal is inserted. Notched recessed sections (9) are oppositely formed at the lower ends of the side faces (3a and 3a) of a female terminal (1). The female terminal (1) is locked by horizontally opening locking legs (7) protruded from the rear surface of a printed wiring board (11) from an inserting hole (12). In such a state, the rear surface of the board is dipped in molten solder (21). When the board (11), is pulled up from the molten solder (12), the solder (21) closing the pipe section (2) in a bridge-like form is turned to droplets and drops from the recessed section (9), because the wettability of the pipe section (2) with the solder (21) is lowered and the adhesion is weakened due to the recessed sections (9). The remaining molten solder (21) attaches to the peripheral edge of the end of the pipe section (2) other than the recessed sections (9) due to the surface tension and solidifies.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai Rika Denki SeisakushoInventors: Mitsutoshi Higuchi, Toshikazu Mizutani, Satoru Imaeda, Yasuo Miyake, Takehiko Niwa, Haruo Shimura

Patent number: 5958613Abstract: A polymer electrolyte fuel cell system with a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is made up of a cell main body, a mixture generator for generating a gas-liquid mixture by mixing fuel gas which has been supplied from a fuel gas supply with water, and a means for supplying the gas-liquid mixture to the anode-side channels. The gas-liquid mixture allows the solid-polymer film to be moistened without humidifying fuel gas and oxidant gas with a humidifier, and the cell main body to be cooled down without providing a cooling channel therein.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1996Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akira Hamada, Takaaki Matsubayashi, Toru Nakaoka, Yasuo Miyake, Toshikazu Nakajima

Patent number: 5624683Abstract: A sustained-release multi-granule tablet is obtained by compressing sustained-release granules, which contains a basis, and a formulation adjuvant. Each of the granules has been coated in advance with a layer of the formulation adjuvant and/or a layer of a mixture of the formulation adjuvant and the basis. The tablet releases an active substance at a suitable velocity into the digestion tract, resulting in that the inbalance in the absorption of the drug in each patient and among individual patients is minimized to achieve maximum bioavailability.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1994Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: Eisai Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hidenobu Andoh, Sumio Watanabe, Yasuo Miyake

Patent number: 4753599Abstract: An automotive steering assembly which has a steering pad maintained stationary independently of the steering wheel operation is disclosed. The assembly employs a sun and planetary gear system in transmission of rotary motion to the steering shaft. The steering wheel is rigidly attached to the steering shaft while the sun and planetary gear system contributes to maintenance of the orientation of the steering pad. In the sun and planetary gear system, the role of the sun portion is played by a timing belt whereas that of the planetary portion is played by a rotary gear wheel. The above timing belt and planetary gear wheel are adapted to be disengaged from each other upon entry of foreign matters including sand grains or the like.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1987Date of Patent: June 28, 1988Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai Rika Denki SeisakushoInventors: Sadao Kokubu, Yasuo Miyake, Shinji Mizutani
