  • Patent number: 6203349
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical connector with a locking mechanism which is to be locked to a counter electrical connector by insertedly connecting the connector to the counter electrical connector and then conducting a given rotating operation, and in which only a given rotation operation is required for enabling a locking state to be naturally canceled by a spring force. According to the present invention, irrespective of whether the electrical connector has a single pole or plural poles, the connectors can be connected and locked to each other without requiring an adjustment of a lock ring in the peripheral direction, only by determining the fitting position. In the electrical connector with a locking mechanism of the present invention, a lock ring at the initial position is positioned by fitting between a protruding portion disposed on a fitting portion, and a recess portion disposed in a lock ring fitted onto the fitting portion.

  • Patent number: 5149283
Abstract: In a plug, an insulating body is disposed in a cylindrical metallic shield cover, a plurality of signal contacts and two power supply contacts are held by the insulating body axially thereof and are separated by a square-sectioned partition wall extending from the insulating body. The front end face of the partition wall lies forwardly of the tips of the contacts. In a socket to which the plug is put, a plurality of signal contacts and two power supply contacts are held by an insulating body axially thereof. A cylindrical metallic member is mounted in the body in a manner to surround the contacts. In the cylindrical member a columnar key extends forwardly from the insulating body on the center axis of the cylindrical member. The power supply contacts are housed in slots made in said columnar key and extending rearwardly from its front end face.

  • Patent number: 5108311
Abstract: A columnar key is formed integrally with a socket body of an insulating material attached to the back of a cylindrical metal member of a socket and extends in the cylindrical member axially thereof. The socket body had contact support plates extending axially therefromm in the cylindrical member so that they extend over and under the columnar key, respectively. The cylindrical member has a plug guide portion for guiding a cylindrical metal shield cover of the mating plug to the position where the front end face of the plug body abuts against the front end face of the columnar key while holding the center axis of the shield cover of the plug in alignment with the center axis of the cylindrical member of the socket after the cylindrical metal shield cover of the plug is inserted into the cylindrical member of the socket.
