  • Publication number: 20030107280
Abstract: In a starter, a motor rotation shaft and an output shaft are connected through a reduction device. The output shaft is held rotatably by a rear bearing. The bearing has a plurality of through holes between the inner surface and the outer surface. A housing of the starter has a holding part for holding the bearing. A groove is formed annularly in the inner peripheral surface of the holding part. The groove is communicated with the through holes of the bearing. A seal member is press-fit in the holding part in proximity to a pinion gear side of the bearing. The seal member prevents foreign substances from entering the bearing surface of the bearing and inhibits the flowing out of lubricant from the bearing.

  • Publication number: 20030109354
Abstract: In a starter, an output shaft is disposed on a same axial line with a motor shaft through a planetary gear reduction device. The output shaft has an accommodation recess at the rear end thereof and rotatably receives the top end of the motor shaft therein through a ball. The output shaft and the motor shaft have respective end surfaces opposing each other in the axial direction with a spacing therebetween under a condition that the ball is disposed between the output shaft and the motor shaft. A thrust receiving member thinner than the spacing is disposed in the spacing. The thrust receiving member limits a movement of the output shaft toward the motor due to wear of the accommodation recess.

  • Patent number: 6524534
Abstract: An apparatus for removing flammable gas is started only when a concentration change in the flammable gas in a primary containment vessel is detected, so that the decrease in activity of a catalyst due to a catalyst poison is prevented. This apparatus has a catalytic recombining apparatus equipped with a catalyst 1 for reacting the flammable gas, a case 2 that houses the catalyst, and lids 4a and 4b installed at openings 3a and 3b of the case 2. Adhesive parts 5a and 5b which adhere the lids 4a and 4b and the case 2 is melted at high temperatures, and heating elements 6a and 6b composed of an oxidizing catalyst of hydrogen is installed in contact with the adhesive parts 5a and 5b. Thus, the lids are not only closed under normal conditions but opened when the adhesive parts 5a and 5b being melted along with the temperature increase in the surrounding atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20030001708
Abstract: According to the present invention, in a winding structure of a starter, in which a shunt coil 1 is wound around a bobbin 2 shaped like U in a cross section, the shunt coil 1 wound around the bobbin 2 is taped and fixed at a plurality of places together with the bobbin 2, and the shunt coil 1 is placed into a yoke of a starter in this state, the bobbin 2 has a notch 6 which is formed with a depth larger than a winding height of the shunt coil 1 on both of side winding frames of the bobbin 2 at a taping position.

  • Publication number: 20020121019
Abstract: In electrically connecting a starting motor and a magnet switch, a lead wire is shaped into a substantially V-shape. Then, the lead wire is arranged in a molding die and a sleeve is integrally molded with the lead wire. A seal portion of the sleeve fluid-tightly engages with insertion portions of a yoke and an end frame of the motor. While assembling the starting motor and the magnet switch, it is unnecessary to manually bend the lead wire during connection of the lead wire. Therefore, deformation of the seal portion is decreased, thereby maintaining the starting motor to be waterproof and facilitating the assembly of the starting motor.

  • Publication number: 20020103051
Abstract: A starter for an internal combustion engine is comprised of an armature, a motor case, a planetary gear speed reduction mechanism connected to an armature shaft, a frame and a partition plate disposed between the motor case and the frame. The partition plate has an armature-shaft hole and a chamber-connection passage between the armature shaft hole and the armature shaft for connecting the motor chamber and the speed reduction chamber. An undulating circumferential groove is formed between the partition plate and the frame to connect the speed reduction chamber and the outside. A long water drainpipe is removed from a starter for a recreational vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20020066430
Abstract: A starter for an internal combustion engine includes a planetary gear speed reduction mechanism, a pinion and a pinion drive shaft, a motor, a front housing having a plurality of fastening holes disposed at a circumference and a center casing having approximately the same outside diameter as the motor housing. The center housing is disposed between the motor housing and the front housing to align a motor shaft, the planetary gear speed reduction mechanism and the pinion drive shaft. The diameter of the motor housing is a maximum outside diameter of the fastening bolt less than the diameter of a circumference on which the fastening bolts are formed. Therefore, fastening bolts can be easily inserted into the fastening holes.

  • Patent number: 5114667
Abstract: A high temperature reactor has a downflow type nuclear reactor provided at the top portion thereof with a gas inlet and a plurality of steam generators provided around the nuclear reactor. The steam generator has a heat insulation tube provided vertically from the bottom portion of the nuclear reactor to a level higher than the top gas inlet of the reactor, a heat exchanger provided in a descending gas flow path formed around the heat insulation tube, and a gas circulator provided at the bottom portion thereof for feeding a gas coolant to the gas inlet of the nuclear reactor, whereby said gas coolant, after being used for cooling the reactor core, delivered from the bottom portion of the reactor, flows into the heat insulation tube, flows upward to the top portion of the tube, is reversed in direction at the top end of the tube, then flows downward through the descending gas flow where the heat exchanger is provided, and is then recycled to the gas inlet flow path of the reactor by the gas circulator.

  • Patent number: 5113089
Abstract: A sensing circuit is disclosed wherein a first MOS transistor is connected in series with a load to produce a source to drain voltage in response to the load current. A reference voltage generating circuit includes a second MOS transistor and provides a reference voltage determined by the source-to-drain voltage of the second MOS transistor in response to a constant current supplied thereto. A comparator circuit compares the source to drain voltage of the first MOS transistor with the reference voltage to sense the load current.
