  • Patent number: 7732938
Abstract: An adapter for use with vehicle-mounted electronics includes an adapter body further including an input section having at least one main input terminal to which a video signal or audio signal is supplied and at least one secondary input terminal to which a video signal or audio signal is supplied, an output section having an output terminal from which a video signal or audio signal is delivered, a switching element switching an output signal from the input section between the main input terminal side and the secondary input terminal side, and a control section controlling the switching element. The control section includes a detector detecting a signal supplied to the secondary input terminal side. The control section controls the switching element based on signal detection by the detector so that the output signal from the input section is switched from the main input terminal side to the secondary input terminal side.

  • Publication number: 20070013200
Abstract: A pillar cover mounted to a pillar of a vehicle so that a space is defined between the pillar and the pillar cover and so that a vehicle electronic device is mounted in the space. The vehicle electronic device may comprise an audio and video device, a car navigation unit, a car radar unit, a car security alarm system, or an electronic toll collection (ETC) system. When the pillar cover is mounted to the pillar at the driver's seat side, the driver turns sight line slightly sideways so that the vehicle control electronic device can be perceived and accordingly, the device can be operated safe and reliably.

  • Publication number: 20060291668
Abstract: A vehicle audio system mountable on a vehicle compartment ceiling near a front window includes a flat substantially rectangular case having two opposite lengthwise side ends and a shaft hole defined in one of the side ends so as to extend lengthwise with respect to the one side end, the other side end having an end face, an audio system body located in the case and including an operation part mounted on the end face of the other side end of the case, and a pipe inserted in the shaft hole so that the case pivots about the pipe back-and-forth, the pipe having an end bent approximately at a right angle. The bent pipe end is mounted on a support mounted on the vehicle ceiling near the front window so that the case is pivotable into a position where each side end of the case extends perpendicularly to the front window.

  • Patent number: 6580985
Abstract: A vehicle audio adapter which is used in a vehicle multivision system in which electronic apparatuses including an audio, television, car navigation, air condition control, picture monitor and switch panel are connected by a LAN cable to be constructed into a room LAN so that the electronic apparatuses are intensively controlled by a single monitor. When a predetermined one of the electronic apparatuses connected by the room LAN cable is replaced with a non-genuine apparatus which cannot be connected by the room LAN cable and is unsuitable for the room LAN, functions of the room LAN are maintained with the genuine apparatus being left and the genuine apparatus is replaceable with the non-genuine apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20020118843
Abstract: An audio adapter is used with a vehicle audio system including a power amplifier, a head unit serving as a tuner, and a plurality of loud speakers mounted in a vehicle compartment. The audio adapter includes a transformer provided for every one channel between a non-genuine head unit and the power amplifier when the head unit is replaced by the non-genuine head unit. The transformer matches an output impedance with an input impedance between the non-genuine head unit and the power amplifier. The transformer adjusts an output level of the non-genuine head unit to an input level of the power amplifier.
