    Abstract: A vacuum processing apparatus of this invention having a stage on which is disposed the to-be-processed substrate further has a lifting/rotation mechanism capable of lifting the to-be-processed substrate lying on the stage off from an upper surface of the stage to a predetermined height position so that, at this lifted position, the to-be-processed substrate is capable of rotation about a substrate center by a predetermined rotational angle. The lifting/rotation mechanism has: a driving rod built into the stage so as to be moveable up and down and also be rotatable; and a substrate supporting body having a base end plate part capable of contacting a central region, including the substrate center, of the to-be-processed substrate. The substrate supporting body further has at least two arm plate parts elongated from the base end plate part outward thereof.

    Abstract: To record image data in increased number of gradations while forming a unitary data with a small number of dots, two lines worth of image dot data are transferred to shift registers from an image dot data memory. Unitary data of 2-by-2 dot matrix data framed by a window are sequentially read from the shift registers while shifting the window in a main-scanning direction. The unitary data is converted to 16-bit recording data. A set mode register has an output prevention mode and an output allowance mode. When the output prevention mode is set, the recording data is not outputted with regard to one of the two dot lines.

    Abstract: An apparatus for processing original image data to produce print image data used by a printer, wherein a data bus switching circuit provided between an original image data memory and a shift register is selectively placed in a 1X mode or an NX mode. In the 1X mode, each bit of the original image data is transferred as a bit of the print image data to the shift register without conversion. In the NX mode, each bit of the original image data is converted into N (.gtoreq.2) number of bits of the print image data which have the same logical value equal to that of the original image data bit. The addresses of the shift register at which the print image data are sequentially stored are designated by an address counter based on a mode select signal and a write command for reading a set of the original image data for one line from the original image data memory. A read signal is generated for reading out a next set of the original image.

    Abstract: An interpolation dot generating circuit having a determination circuit, a selecting circuit, and interpolation data A for 300 dpi and the interpolation data B for 600 dpi. A one of the interpolation data A or B is selected based on a signal output from a selection switch which shows a resolution of 300 dpi or 600 dpi. If interpolation dot data is generated from the interpolation data A or B, selected by the determination circuit, the dot data from the line memory and the generated interpolation dot data are output to the data selector. The data selector outputs image information VDO based on the dot information and the interpolation dot data output thereto. Therefore, a printing output with higher-quality can be obtained since a high dot density and high-level gradation in compliance with the preset resolution is produced. As a result, a nicely appearing and accurate image can be recorded.

    Abstract: A printer, where an image can be printed on a desired position of a printing paper both when image data is processed and when the image data is not processed, counterbalances the time delay caused by data processing by advancing the timing in which a controller outputs the image data. When the print operation is requested, the controller judges whether the data processing is set ON or OFF if the data processing circuit is connected. When the data processing is set ON, offsets of left and right or up and down are changed in order to quicken the output timing of the image data. The above timing is changed based on the time for which the data corresponds to the data of (M-1)/2 bits, and (N-1)/2 rows of a table are output by the controller.

    Abstract: A continuous multi-layer plating line for steel sheet which includes a hot-galvanizing apparatus to form a galvanized coating and optionally to alloy the coating and an electroplating apparatus to form an electroplated coating on the galvanized coating. Between the hot-galvanizing apparatus and the electroplating apparatus, a post-galvanizing surface treatment apparatus effective for removing surface oxide contaminants and activating the surface of the galvanized coating is disposed and the galvanized steel sheet is treated thereby prior to electroplating. The post-galvanizing surface treatment may be carried out by applying an alkali solution or an acid which can dissolve aluminum oxide to the galvanized coating, by alkali electrolysis, by cathodic electrolysis, by cooling the galvanized steel sheet with an alkali solution, or by skin-pass rolling using an alkali solution or an acid which can dissolve aluminum oxide as a skin-pass roling liquid.

    Abstract: A method is provided for checking a pickup load cell in a tablet-making machine which detects the compressive force applied to a tablet being formed. According to the method, a dummy tablet-forming die formed on a support block is inserted into a selected one of the die-receiving holes formed in a rotary table in place of a real die. A reference load cell is put on the support block, and the reference load cell and the support block are sandwitched between an upper pressure rod in place of an upper punch and a lower pressure rod in place of a lower punch. Measurements are made by both the pickup load cell and the reference load cell as the reference load cell is compressed between a pair of pressure rollers, and the value of the compressive force detected by the pickup load cell is corrected in accordance with the value of the compressive force detected by the reference load cell.
