    Abstract: There is disclosed a method of feeding a dampening water to a plate cylinder in an offset printing press which is accelerated to, operated at and then decelerated from a predetermined speed for printing. The method comprises the step of programmatically controlling the feeding amount of the dampening water to increase in accordance with the increase in speed of the printing press along a first curve which is predetermined to indicate the relation of the feeding amount of dampening water to the speed of printing press, when the printing press is accelerated. The method further comprises the step of programmatically controlling the feeding amount of the dampening water to decrease in accordance with the decrease in speed of the printing press along a second curve which is predetermined to indicate the relation of the feeding amount of dampening water to the speed of printing press, when the printing press is decelerated.

    Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning a printing machine cylinder or the like by pressing a cleaning cloth against the outer periphery of the cylinder or the like is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cloth unit assembly including a cloth cassette and a cloth unit. The cleaning cloth is accommodated in the cloth cassette, and the cloth unit has a space for accommodating the cloth cassette. The cloth unit is provided with pressurizing means for pressing the cleaning cloth fed from the cloth cassette against the cylinder or the like. The cloth cassette has an engagement projection specifying the kind of the cylinder to be cleaned, while the cloth unit has an engagement projection matched to the engagement recess of the cloth cassette.

    Abstract: A reversing gripper apparatus of a one side/perfecting printing press is disclosed. This reversing gripper apparatus comprises a receiving portion wherein a gripper pad fixed to the external circumference of a reversing cylinder grips a sheet of paper in combination with gripper members and a space for withdrawal, the gripper members comprise a combination of a master gripper provided on a common shaft and an auxiliary gripper opposed to the master gripper, the master gripper is formed with a width sufficient to cover the receiving portion of the gripper pad and the point of the auxiliary gripper at the same time and is controlled by a common shaft, and the auxiliary gripper has such a width as to be partly opposed to the width of the master gripper and is controlled with the common shaft as the center. By adopting this structure, the gripping function, register accuracy, and the gripping force of the reversing gripper apparatus are greatly increased.

Partition member 3 divides said outer housing interior into an air intake chamber 4 and an air blowing chamber 5, said partition member having mechanical strength, and constituting a skeleton together with said outer walls, 1a, 1b, and 2, 2. A side covering panel 21 is fitted on said side covering walls to cover either or both said side covering walls 2. An air blowing means is provided in said air intake chamber 4 for sending air into said air blowing chamber 5. An air filter 7 is provided in said air intake chamber to remove dust in the air to be taken in by said air blowing means.
