  • Publication number: 20240066872
Abstract: A recording device has: a recording section that discharges a liquid to a medium for recording purposes; a maintenance unit that abuts the recording section and performs maintenance of the recording section; a first moving section that causes the recording section to abut the maintenance unit and separates the recording section from the maintenance unit; and a restricting section that can suppress movement of the recording section toward the maintenance unit after the recording section abuts the maintenance unit. The first moving section has a driving source and a worm gear that transmits the power of the driving source. A force with which the driving source causes the recording section to abut the maintenance unit is smaller than a force with which the driving source separates the recording section from the maintenance unit.

  • Patent number: 11518163
Abstract: A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a printing portion and a control portion. The printing portion executes a printing operation including ejecting a liquid from a nozzle onto a medium. The control portion executes an initial operation upon supply of power and executes the printing operation in accordance with a print instruction. The initial operation and the printing operation include a common printing operation that is common to the initial operation and the printing operation. When the control portion does not receive the print instruction during execution of the initial operation, the control portion executes the initial operation including the common printing operation. When the control portion receives the print instruction during execution of the initial operation, the control portion omits the common printing operation from the initial operation.

  • Patent number: 9415961
Abstract: A paper transport device includes a motor; a transport portion that transports a paper by using a power generated by the motor; a determination portion that, when the paper is transported in a transport direction, determines whether or not a load larger than or equal to a predetermined load has been applied to the motor for a predetermined period; and a motor control portion. When the determination portion determines that a load larger than or equal to the predetermined load has been applied to the motor for the predetermined period, the motor control portion rotates the motor in a direction reverse to a normal rotation direction and then rotates the motor again in the normal rotation direction by inputting to the motor an electric current being larger than an electric current that has been input to the motor for transporting the paper in the transport direction, before an electric current causing a load that is larger than or equal to the predetermined load is input to the motor.

  • Publication number: 20110273500
Abstract: A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head with a plurality of nozzle groups each having a plurality of nozzles. Each nozzle ejects a liquid onto a landing target by an ejection pulse applied to the liquid. A movement unit relatively moves the liquid ejecting head and the landing target. A control unit sets an ejection timing of the liquid from the nozzles for each nozzle group according to a distance between the nozzles and the landing target. A driving signal generation unit generates driving signals including the ejection pulses, where a timing of each ejection pulse is based on the distance and a speed of the liquid as the liquid crosses the distance. The control unit selects the driving signal for each nozzle group based on the distance and applies a corresponding ejection pulse to the liquid. A liquid ejecting method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6553955
Abstract: An air-intake manifold includes a plurality of air-intake pipes connecting between a collector and an air-intake pipe mount. Each air-intake pipe 3 is bent to have a predetermined shape. Each air-intake pipe 3 is fabricated by bending a substantially straight double metal pipe that has an outer pipe 3a and an inner pipe 3b with a clearance 3c therebetween equal to or less than 0.2 mm, such that the outer pipe 3a and the inner pipe 3b locally contact with each other at an intermediate region. Accordingly, while the outer pipe 3a and the inner pipe 3b of the air-intake pipe 3 locally contact with each other at the contact point 3e (in the relatively slidable relationship), an air layer having a thickness equal to or less than about 0.2 mm is formed between the outer pipe 3a and the inner pipe 3b at portions except for the contact point 3e.

  • Patent number: 6289863
Abstract: An intake manifold has a plurality of branch tubes each joined by brazing in a furnace at one end to a flange on the engine side and at the other end to a surge tank on the throttle chamber side. The surge tank is separated into two pieces or a brazing side member and a non-heating side member. Branch tubes are fixed in position relative to the brazing side member by peen locking with a peening tool or the like and are then joined to the brazing side member by brazing in the furnace. The non-heating side member is not subjected to the brazing in the furnace but is joined to the brazing side member by bolts or the like.

  • Patent number: 6286213
Abstract: A method of securing intake tubes in an intake manifold is provided in which leakage of brazing material from the joint between the intake tubes and the intake tube mounting rings is prevented. For securing each intake tube in the intake manifold, the intake tube 3 is fitted into the intake tube mounting ring 5. Then, a jig 13 of a tubular shape is inserted into insert areas of the intake tube 3 and the intake tube mounting ring 5. The jig 13 includes separate sections 16 defined by slits extending to a predetermined length in parallel to the axis and has a plurality of projections 19 and 20 provided on the outer side of the separate sections 16 thereof. A bar-like pressing tool 14 reduced in the diameter towards its front end is inserted into the interior of a tubular shape of the peen locking jig 13, and it is then advanced relatively towards the insert area by the action of pressing means.
