  • Patent number: 6529690
Abstract: A camera uses a film cartridge having a light-shielding door for opening/closing a film inlet and outlet opening. A cartridge chamber accommodates the film cartridge. A cartridge chamber lid is provided at the opening of the cartridge chamber. A first driving mechanism drives the cartridge chamber lid. A second driving mechanism drives the light-shielding door. A control section controls the second driving mechanism to maintain the light-shielding door in an opened state when it is not possible to take out the film cartridge from the cartridge chamber.

  • Patent number: 6151451
Abstract: This invention provides a display illuminating apparatus for use in a camera, which is operable without generating great noise and hence permits at least the AF and AE operations of the camera to be performed without the influence of noise, and which enables the operator of the camera to confirm the present operation. Information on photography by the camera is displayed on an LCD lit by an EL that is driven by an EL driving circuit. Further, a remote control switch incorporated in a switch input section of the camera sets the camera in a state in which it can receive a remote control signal. Where the camera is set in a remote control mode by the remote control switch, the operation of the EL driving circuit is stopped by an instruction from a CPU, thereby inhibiting lighting of the EL.

  • Patent number: 6112032
Abstract: A magnetic reproduction circuit for cameras has a magnetic head for detecting magnetic information on a film. In this reproduction circuit, an amplifying circuit amplifies an output signal of the magnetic head and a filter circuit detects an envelope of an output signal of the amplifying circuit. A detection time constant on a discharge side of the filter circuit is set to be smaller than a cycle of noise exerting an adverse effect on the amplifier circuit.

  • Patent number: 6094542
Abstract: A camera of this invention detects the presence or absence of magnetic data and prevents at least occurrence of a frame of double exposure or unexposed frame even under the influence of an electromagnetic noise. The position of a perforation of a film is detected by a position detecting section and whether a magnetic head is set in contact with a recording area adjacent to an exposed frame or a recording inhibition area adjacent to a portion between the adjacent exposed frames is determined. A threshold value used for determining the presence or absence of magnetic data is set in a threshold setting circuit based on an output generated when the position detecting circuit determines that the magnetic head is set in contact with the recording inhibition area.
