    Abstract: The present invention is to provide an electromagnetic wave shielding material which comprises a transparent substrate and a fine line pattern formed thereon, wherein the fine line pattern comprises a metal plating film using a physically developed metal silver as a catalytic nucleus and a process for preparing an electromagnetic wave shielding material which comprises exposing a light-sensitive material having a physical development nuclei layer and a silver halide emulsion layer on a transparent substrate in this order, precipitating metal silver with an optional fine line pattern onto the physical development nuclei layer by physical development, then, removing a layer provided on the physical development nuclei layer, and subjecting to plating a metal with the use of the physically developed metal silver as a catalytic nucleus.

The process comprises subjecting a light-sensitive material for lithographic printing plate to imagewise exposure and development and then treating the resulting silver image with an oxidizing agent and a monocyclic compound comprising a nitrogen-containing single ring and having substituents on at least two atoms constituting said ring, said substituents being capable of reacting with silver ion. The oxidizing agent and the monocyclic compound may be contained separately or together in a stop solution, a fixing solution, an etch solution or damping solution or especially prepared solution.

C. for 1 minute, amount of solution absorbed in the layers is 3.5-7.0 ml per 1 g of hydrophilic colloid; and the support comprises a paper coated with polyolefin resin on both sides and has a water content of 5.5%-7.5%.

    Abstract: Lithographic printing plates which have such a high sensitivity as permitting use of semiconductor laser beam of low output, a high resolving power and a high printing endurance and are free from occurrence of scumming are made by a method which comprises imagewise exposing a light sensitive material which comprises a support and at least a silver halide emulsion layer and a surface physical development nuclei layer provided on the support, said emulsion layer comprising silver halide grains which contain at least silver bromide and containing at least one sensitizing dye having a maximum spectral sensitivity in the region of longer than 700 .mu.m and then developing the exposed light sensitive material with a silver complex diffusion transfer developer containing at least a thiocyanate. Further improvement can be obtained by providing an antihalation means to keep the reflectance of a light of longer than 700 .mu.m at 13-40%.
