  • Patent number: 8596733
Abstract: In a liquid ejecting apparatus, when a ON/OFF detector detects that power of the liquid ejecting apparatus is switched to an ON state from an OFF state, a controller controls a liquid transfer unit such that liquid is transferred to a tank of which residual amount of liquid is smaller from a tank of which residual amount of liquid is larger based on the residual amount of liquid in a first tank detected by the first liquid residual amount detector and the residual amount of liquid in a second tank detected by the second liquid residual amount detector.

  • Patent number: 8287064
Abstract: A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a first liquid containing unit containing a liquid therein and a second detachable liquid containing unit containing a liquid therein and having a liquid containing volume smaller than that of the first liquid containing unit. A communication passage communicates the first liquid containing unit with the second liquid containing unit. The first and second liquid containing units are reciprocally replenished with the liquid by a liquid replenishing unit through the communication passage. When the liquid is replenished from the first or second liquid containing units to the other, a control unit controls the liquid replenishing unit to replenish the liquid from the one liquid containing unit to the other liquid containing unit, until the liquid contained in the one liquid containing unit reaches a predetermined amount smaller than the liquid containing volume of the second liquid containing unit.

  • Publication number: 20100066780
Abstract: A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a head that includes a plurality of nozzles disposed for each color of liquids and ejects liquids from the plurality of nozzles onto a medium; and a control unit that sets one of the plurality of nozzles as a test target nozzle and forms a nozzle test pattern used for testing defective liquid-ejection of the test target nozzle on a transparent color medium by landing the liquids ejected from the test target nozzle and a different nozzle of the plurality of nozzles, which is different from the test target nozzle, on the transparent color medium so as to be overlapped with each other.
