Patent number: 8511590Abstract: A high voltage is applied between an emitter electrode in an atomizing barrel and an opposed electrode supported to the atomizing barrel to electrostatically atomize a liquid supplied to the emitter electrode into a mist of charged minute particles. A silencer duct is attached to the front end of the atomizing barrel for reducing noises developed when generating the mist of the charged minute particles. Accordingly, the silencer duct can absorb the noises developed around the emitter electrode and the opposed electrode at immediately downstream thereof for effectively reducing the noises.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2006Date of Patent: August 20, 2013Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Hideki Watanabe, Yasushi Arikawa, Akihide Sugawa, Takeshi Yano, Hisahito Ono, Kouichi Hirai, Tomonori Tanaka

Patent number: 6196236Abstract: An ultrasonic hair curling device capable of applying ultrasonic vibration efficiently to hairs for effective hair styling in a short time. The device includes a housing, an ultrasonic generator incorporated in the housing for generating ultrasonic vibrations, and a horn connected to receive and transmit the ultrasonic vibrations. The horn is formed at its end with a hollow barrel which projects from the housing for receiving therearound a strand of hair to be curled. The hollow barrel is provided at a portion intermediates at its longitudinal ends with a hair winding zone of which cross-section is smaller than the other portion of the hollow barrel. The hair winding zone of the reduced cross section can vibrate at an amplitude larger than at the front end of the barrel for applying the ultrasonic vibrations efficiently to the hair and making the hair curling effectively.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1999Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd.Inventors: Takeshi Imai, Yasuhiro Sato, Izumi Mihara, Hiromitsu Inoue, Hideo Iwata, Yoshiki Isogai, Masahiko Adachi, Yasushi Arikawa, Hideaki Abe, Shosuke Akisada
