Patent number: 6338550Abstract: An inkjet printing head which is capable of being assembled efficiently and easily. In the inkjet printing head, a main frame has a hollow portion for receiving a flexible cable therein, and a sub-frame has a rimmed window for receiving a flexible member. The main frame and sub-frame are combined such that the flexible cable and flexible member are sandwiched therebetween. The hollow portion of the main frame, the flexible cable and the rimmed window of the sub-frame have the same shape so that these members can be reliably positioned with respect to one another. Electrodes on the flexible cable are pressed, with a uniform pressure, to piezoelectric elements of a head assembly attached to the main frame.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1997Date of Patent: January 15, 2002Assignee: Rohm, Co., Ltd.Inventors: Toshio Amano, Hisayoshi Fujimoto, Yasushi Ema, Yasuhisa Fujii, Nobuhisa Ishida

Patent number: 5637126Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing an ink jet print head which both realizes a higher density and prevents a failure in ink jetting and deterioration in the printing quality. A multiplicity of individual ink passages, each having an narrow width and a large depth, are formed in an array by anisotropic etching a photosensitive glass substrate. A diaphragm is attached to the surface of the glass substrate so as to cover the individual ink passages. A common electrode is provided on the diaphragm, and individual piezoelectric elements are fixed to the common electrode at the portions corresponding to the individual ink passages. Individual electrodes are provided on the respective individual piezoelectric elements. A voltage applied to the common electrode and an individual electrode causes a portion of the diaphragm to corresponding to the individual electrode to be bend and deformed. The ink storing capacity of the corresponding individual ink passage is reduced and some of the ink is forced out.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1995Date of Patent: June 10, 1997Assignee: Rohm Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasushi Ema, Hisayoshi Fujimoto, Nobuhisa Ishida, Toshio Amano, Akihiro Shimokata, Shinsaku Takada

Patent number: 5541630Abstract: An inkjet print head and inkjet printer can stabilize the characteristic of ink discharge and improve the quality of printing by providing a vibrating plate, a part of which is vibrated by deforming a piezoelectric element corresponding to a pressure chamber without transmission of the vibration to any other vibrating plate part corresponding to another pressure chamber. The inkjet print head and inkjet printer can prevent any floating in the grounding electrode. In the inkjet print head and inkjet printer, furthermore, the characteristic of ink droplet discharge can be stabilized by reducing and equalizing the distance between the grounding electrode and each of the piezoelectric element electrode. A head unit is mounted on a base which includes a support for supporting the parts of the vibrating plate corresponding to the respective nozzles.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1993Date of Patent: July 30, 1996Assignee: Rohm Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yasushi Ema, Hisayoshi Fujimoto, Toshio Amano

Patent number: 4734632Abstract: A driving device for a stepping motor wherein detection of a position of the rotor of a stepping motor can be effected accurately without the necessity of adjustments of various elements. The device detects a current flow in a field winding of an energized phase and compares it with a simulated saturation curve to detect a back EMF induced in the winding to find a current position of the rotor of the motor. The simulated saturation curve is produced by energizing the winding with a low voltage, measuring current flows in the winding as voltage signals at three different points of time, and calculating several data indicating a saturation curve from the voltage signals. The data are stored in memory and recalled one after another to produce a corresponding voltage when the field winding is energized.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1986Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Silver Seiko Ltd.Inventors: Shigeo Kamikura, Yasushi Ema

Patent number: 4734631Abstract: A step motor control system which can control a step motor to rotate at a variable high speed like a brushless motor. A position signal indicating a position of a rotor of a step motor relative to a specific one of field windings is detected as a voltage signal which is successively compared with a reference voltage in order to detect a specific angular position of the rotor at which selective energization and deenergization of the field windings are started for a next stepping operation of the motor. The position signal may be extracted as a voltage signal from an electric current flowing through a last energized field winding by a resistor connected thereto. From the voltage signal, a back EMF induced in the field winding due to its self inductance is subtracted to detect a voltage position signal or EMF induced in the field winding by a permanent magnet of the rotor.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1986Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Silver Seiko Ltd.Inventors: Shigeo Kamikura, Yasushi Ema
