Abstract: An image selection system is composed of an image output apparatus and a portable terminal that supplies image files indicating images that are to be supplied as output by the image output apparatus. The portable terminal includes a display unit and at least one decoder that decodes image files. The image output apparatus includes a plurality of decoders that each decode various types of image files. The portable terminal transmits to the image output apparatus information indicating the image file formats that can be decoded in the portable terminal, and the image output apparatus, having received the information indicating the image file formats that was transmitted from the portable terminal, transmits converted image files in which images held by the image output apparatus are converted to an image file format that was indicated by the received information. The portable terminal then receives and decodes image files transmitted from the image output apparatus and displays the images on the display unit.

Abstract: An image projection control apparatus is connected to a plurality of data processors for generating image data, and displays a plurality of images projected onto a screen by a display unit based on the image data generated by the data processors. The image projection control apparatus includes an image controller for editing the image data supplied from the data processors and for outputting the edited image data to the display unit, and an image manipulator for controlling the image control means and the data processors. The image manipulator has a pointing device for displaying a pointer movably on a screen image on the screen and selecting a command indicated by the pointer for execution, a data processor selector for selecting one of the data processors which generates the image data corresponding to the image where the pointer is presently positioned, and an execution instructing unit for instructing the selected data processor to execute the indicated command.
