Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for taking dietary fibers, which comprises 1 to 50% by weight, on the basis of the whole composition, of dietary fibers composed of water-soluble and hardly fermentable dietary fiber and water-soluble and fermentable dietary fiber, wherein the water-soluble and fermentable dietary fiber is contained in a proportion of 0.1 to 3 parts by weight per part by weight of the water-soluble and hardly fermentable dietary fiber. The composition remarkably ameliorates not only bowel movement frequency but also full consciousness, feeling of unsatisfied defecation, etc. and is hence useful as food for ameliorating bowel movement.

Abstract: Provided is a fecal condition improving composition containing (a) a compound selected from the group consisting of caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid and ferulic acid, esters thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, (b) a water-soluble and hardlyfermentable dietary fiber, and (c) a water-soluble and fermentable dietary fiber. The composition of the present invention is useful as a food or beverage, or a pharmaceutical for improving the fecal condition of humans or animals, more specifically, inhibiting intestinal clamping due to imbalance of the autonomic nervous system caused by psychological stress or dietary change, suppressing abdominal pain or discomfort, improving the fecal condition, and ameliorating constipation.

Abstract: To provide a novel ether compound which is useful such as an oil agent and a surfactant having the formula (I): R.sup.1 --O--(AO).sub.n --R.sup.2, wherein R.sup.1 is an alpha-branched alkyl group or an alkyl group having two or more branched chains or a cycloalkyl having 5 to 7 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is an alkyl or alkenyl each being either branched or straight, each having 10 to 30 carbon atoms, A is an alkylene having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, n is a number from 0 to 30, A's being same as or different from one another.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyether polymer having structural units represented by general formula (1), wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 mean individually an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon atoms, which may have at least one hydroxyl group, and Y denotes an alkylene group of 1-10 carbon atoms, which may have a hydroxyl group, a preparation process thereof, and a moisturizer, a cosmetic composition and a detergent composition comprising this polymer. The cosmetic composition and detergent composition are excellent in moisture retention, keep up the moisturizing effect over a long period of time and give users a pleasant feeling.

Abstract: The present invention provides a cleanser composition which is free from any thickener, contains surfactant(s) at such a concentration as not to irritate the skin or mucosa, can impart an appropriate consistency to the cleanser, exhibits excellent foaming, can be easily taken out from a container in use and gives a good feel in use.The cleanser composition comprises the following components (A), (B) and (C):(A) an alkali metal salt of a secondary amide-type N-acylamino acid represented by formula (1):R.sup.1 CONH(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOH (1)wherein R.sup.1 CO represents a linear acyl group having 10 to 16 carbon atoms; and n is a number of 1 or 2;(B) an alkali metal salt of a higher fatty acid; and(C) an amphoteric surfactant; and the mixing ratio by weight of (A+B)/C ranges from 2.5/1 to 1/2.

Abstract: An aqueous gel cleanser composition which contains:(A) from 1 to 50% by weight of a nonionic surfactant represented by the formula (1):RCOO--(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n --H (1)wherein RCO represents a saturated or unsaturated acyl group having 4 to 30 carbon atoms; and n represents a number of from 1 to 50 on the weight average;(B) from 20 to 70% by weight of a polyhydric alcohol or a glycol ether; and(C) from 0.1 to 5% by weight of a water soluble polymer.This aqueous gel cleanser composition has a high detergency on makeup stains and sebum stains, little irritates the skin, exhibits a good massaging effect and is usable even at high temperatures and humidity owing to its high stability.

Abstract: An aqueous liquid cleansing composition, packaged in a foamer container, said composition comprising:(A) from 5 to 50% by weight of an anionic carboxylate surfactant; and(B) from 0.1 to 5% by weight of a salt.The aqueous liquid cleansing composition of the present invention shows an extremely low viscosity increase at a low temperature and can be easily pushed out from the foamer container even at a low temperature thus giving uniform foam. It is particularly suitable for a skin cleanser.

Abstract: A detergent composition is disclosed. The composition comprises polymer particles having an average particle size of 50-500 .mu.m in 5% by weight sodium chloride aqueous solution and a modulus of elasticity of 1.times.10.sup.3 -5.times.10.sup.5 dyne/cm.sup.2 in said sodium chloride aqueous solution. It exhibits a superior physical or mechanical washing performance, and gives remarkably reduced irritation and minimal damage to the object being washed. When a germicide is incorporated in addition to the polymer particles, its sterilization effect is greatly enhanced.

Abstract: A detergent composition comprising a polyether-modified silicone having a molecular weight of 3,500 or smaller as a detergent component is disclosed. The detergent composition can effectively eliminate oily residue such as the residues from makeup, e.g. lipsticks, foundations, etc., sebum, and the like in a short period of time, while imparting a pleasant sensation to the skin during and after cleansing.

Abstract: A novel phosphobetaine is disclosed. This compound is very excellence in that it exerts a conditioning effect of imparting a good feel to the skin or hair, is excellent in humidifying properties, is available at a low price, and thus it is highly usable in detergents, cosmetics, a bathing preparation and the like. A detergent composition, a cosmetic, and a bathing preparation each containing the phosphobetaine are also disclosed.

Abstract: A liquid detergent composition containing the following components (a) and (b) at a proportion of (a)/[(a)+(b)] of 0.4 -1:(a) phosphoric ester of the following formula (1) ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a C.sub.8 -C.sub.12 linear hydrocarbon group, R.sup.4 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 linear hydrocarbon group and X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 are, independently, a potassium atom or a hydrogen atom; and(b) phosphoric ester of the following formula (2): ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 is a C.sub.11 -C.sub.15 linear hydrocarbon group and X.sup.3 and X.sup.4 are, independently, a potassium atom or a hydrogen atom.

Abstract: A skin detergent composition comprises (a) 5 to 95 percent by weight of a phosphoric acid ester having the formula (I) or (II) and (b) 0.0005 to 0.1 percent by weight of a water-soluble chitin compound.

Abstract: A detergent composition comprises(A) a nonionic surfactant represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## and having an HLB value of 3 or above but below 8, and (B) a phosphate surfactant represented by the general formula (II) or (III): ##STR2## or at least one lowly irritant anionic surfactant selected from among (i) N-acylglutamate surfactants,(ii) isethionate surfactants, and(iii) sulfosuccinate surfactants.

Abstract: An aerosol preparation containing a cleansing agent and a propellant is provided. The cleansing agent is composed of a phosphate ester surfactant obtained by mixing two alkylphosphate salts a weight ratio of from 70:30 to 20:80. The first alkylphosphate salt is represented by: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 means a C.sub.12-14 hydrocarbon group, X denotes a specific cation, n1 is 0-10, A is R.sub.2 O--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n2 or --OY, R.sub.2 having the same meaning as R.sub.1, Y denoting a specific cation, and n2 being a value of 0-10. The second alkylphosphate salt is represented by: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.3 is similar to R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 except for inclusion of more carbon atoms, m1 is 0-10, B denotes R.sub.4 O-- --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.m2 or --OY, R.sub.4 having the same meaning as R.sub.3, m2 being 0-10 and Y having the same meaning as defined above, X has the same meaning as defined above.

Abstract: Fragrant cyclohexanol derivatives are produced by condensing 2-ethylidene-5-norbornene with a phenol compound, in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst; and hydrogenating the condensation product in the presence of a metal catalyst.The compounds so produced have a green-floral odor and are advantageously used in soaps, detergents, shampoos, hair rinse, cosmetics, colognes and perfumes.
