  • Patent number: 5496119
Abstract: After initialization (S1), the cassette signal is retrieved (S2). Then the tape width of the tape in the tape cassette mounted in the tape printer is determined by tape TB1 (S4). The width of the image display zone is calculated using the tape width and using the table TB5 (S7). The data of standard format information is stored in the start address of the text memory (S8). A text input screen is displayed set with the image display zone corresponding to the tape width calculated in S2 for the display. A cursor is also displayed having the size of the display character size, which was determined based on the print character size, which has been calculated using the tape width, the number of lines "1," and the table TB3. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a grasp of the relation between tape width and the situation at which characters will be printed.

  • Patent number: 5301417
Abstract: A method and a pressing apparatus for pressing an armature shaft into an axial hole formed on an approximately cylindrical core, so as to protrude the shaft from the specified end face of the core at the specified protrusion dimension. A gage base is provided in which a shaft through hole of the same dimension as the specified protrusion dimension is formed. The core is placed on the gage base with the specified end face facing down. The shaft is first pressed into the axial hole to protrude it downward from a lower face of the shaft through hole. Next, the shaft is pushed back upward until a shaft push back portion reaches the gage base, thereby, protruding the shaft form the specified end face of the core at the specified protrusion dimension.

  • Patent number: 5287538
Abstract: A word processor for setting a format of a text, having a format controller for controlling a newly set format to be effective from the beginning of a character data group to which the position where the format setting operation is carried out belongs, and a reformatter for reforming at least the character data group based upon the newly set format. The word processor searches backward and forward in the text for locating line feed codes designating the beginning and end of the character data group, respectively, and selects the beginning and end of the text when the line feed codes could not be located.
