  • Patent number: 4976514
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a light-responsive fluorescent screen that luminenesces at least one kind of visible light when activated by a U.V. light impinging on the screen. The device further includes a liquid crystal cell disposed in front of the luminous surface of the fluorescent screen and an irradiating device for impinging the active light onto the fluorescent screen so as to enable the display device to display a two dimensional image at a high speed with a high quality even though it uses a simple matrix address driving system for the liquid crystal cell. The display device incorporates an intercepting layer composed of glass plate or plastic film which intercepts black light discharged from the fluorescent screen to prevent the leakage of harmful U.V. rays to the outside of the display device.

  • Patent number: 4871404
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an optical information recording disk having a reduced eccentricity between the center hole of the disk and the recorded track. A transparent circular substrate is provided having a large circular hole. A metal lamination disk member is formed having an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the hole in the substrate and an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the hole in the substrate. The metal lamination disk member is placed on the substrate with an adhesive and positioned so that the center hole in the lamination member is concentric relative to the substrate, whereupon the adhesive is hardened. A molded circular plate is then concentrically mounted having a transfer surface on a main surface of the circular substrate through a setting resin in a liquid phase, which is then hardened.

A metal lamination disk member is formed having an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the hole in the substrate and an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the hole in the substrate. The metal lamination disk member is placed on the substrate with a first adhesive and concentrically arranged relative to the substrate. A second adhesive is applied to peripheral side surface portions of the metal lamination disk member in the vicinity of the surface of the circular substrate. The second adhesive is hardened to temporarily fix metal lamination member to the substrate, and then the first adhesive is hardened.

  • Patent number: 4812857
Abstract: The structure of an annular spacer adapted to be sandwiched between a pair of circular base plates in an optical information record disk of the air sandwiching type. The annular spacer has an annular groove having a flattened bottom which groove is formed on each of opposite faces of the annular spacer on which circular base plates are carried in order to allow layers of a bonding agent between the circular base plates and the spacer to have a sufficient thickness required for adhesion between them.

  • Patent number: 4683562
Abstract: An optical information recording disk comprising a reinforcement disk provided with circumferential banks of spacers and a pair of substrates sandwiching the disk to cover a information bearing layer and spaces therebetween which is of sufficient strength to support itself against deflection when loaded for playing in the player.
