  • Publication number: 20060164684
Abstract: When an output unit to produce output is specified through an instruction terminal 11 and original data is input to a color proof generation section 12, a color conversion section 13 acquires a color conversion parameter corresponding to the specified output unit from a color conversion information storage section 14 and performs color conversion processing for the original data so as to accomplish precise color reproduction in the specified output unit. A rasterizing section 15 expands the original data after undergoing the color conversion processing into raster data while using an enormous number of fonts in a font storage section 16. The raster data provided by the rasterizing section 15 is transmitted from a communication section 17 through a network 4 to the specified output unit. If a remote system 2 or 3, which receives the raster data, prints out on output unit 21 or 31, a color proof whose color is reproduced precisely can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20060061790
Abstract: In an image forming method and apparatus, a starting point location is acquired for carrying out rasterization of a subfile by interpreting a page descriptive language in the subfile, which is contained in a page print information file, and region size information for forming an image is also acquired from the subfile. Further, any non-interpretable description in the subfile is detected, and when a non-interpretable description is detected in the subfile, a predetermined image is formed at a predetermined position specified by either the starting point location or the starting point location and the region size information.

  • Publication number: 20050174588
Abstract: When there is an object of a color plate which is different than a process color, it is confirmed whether or not Color (n), which corresponds to that color name Spot (n), is a spot color. If Color (n) is a spot color, CMYK value conversion is carried out from a LUT of that spot color, and CMYK values are composed in a region for output. If Color (n) is a process color, CMYK values thereof are stored in a region for CMYK color correction. After color correction is carried out on the CMYK values of the region for CMYK color correction, they are composed with CMYK values of the region for CMYK output. Color information when a color plate different than a process color is included, is generated.

  • Publication number: 20040098508
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device and an image processing method, which prevent printing mishaps from occurring in printed matter when a user performs a printing process by using a machine plate without knowing a compressed image is included on a page layout. In the print server, when a compressed image on a page layout is detected, a warning is generated to request selection of the next process. For this reason, when interruption of printing is designated, the printing process is interrupted. Drawing using a warning color or application of an outline is designated, and a drawing setting is performed according to the designation. An output of a warning page is designated, and a setting is performed such that a print output is obtained by either extracting a compressed image or by deleting a compressed image.

  • Publication number: 20040080798
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing method and an image processing apparatus for properly enabling a compressed image included in a page layout to be drawn in colors. A print server detects a compressed image in an EPS (JPEG) format or the like, sets a CMS according to the color plate being processed, and converts values of C, M, Y, and K. For example, when a process on the C color plate is performed, the converting process is performed by using a CMS 40C for the C color plate so that the value of “c” in the compressed image becomes a value of K (KC value). In such a manner, the values of K (KC, KM, KY, and KK) output from CMSs 40C, 40M, 40Y, and 40K are converted into values of C, M, Y, and K.

  • Publication number: 20040080769
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device and an image processing method which efficiently and effectively use an overprint warning function to make it possible to efficiently check an actual print finish. When an overprint warning function is set, the print server checks whether a trapping function is set in an ON state or not. The print server sets a trapping setting as a warning object when the trapping function is in an ON state. Therefore, the print server extracts an overprint to check whether the object is set as a warning object for a Koverprint and a register mark/caption, and then performs a warning process to the object serving as a warning object and a print setting, so that the print setting is performed to make the selected warning object definite.

  • Publication number: 20040080765
Abstract: In a print server, when page setting is made, a spot color name is extracted from a comment in an image drawing command and image data or a code of a job on a page (page layout) unit basis and a list for a spot color name of each page is generated. After that, a color separating process and an RIP are performed on the page unit basis, raster data of each of colors C, M, Y, and K and corresponding raster data of a spot color name is generated, after that, on the basis of CMYK values designated by the spot color name, the raster data of the spot color is composed with the raster data of each of the colors C, M, Y, and K, and the resultant is output. In such a manner, an overprint of an object designated in a spot color can be reproduced accurately.

  • Publication number: 20040051887
Abstract: An image processing method and image processing device which carry out color replacement of any color of process colors, by using another process color or a spot color which is not a process color. CMYK values of raster data of a color for which color replacement is designated, among process colors of an image object, are converted by using CMYK values of a replacement color stored in advance, and raster data of the replacement color is generated. Then, this raster data is composed with raster data of a remaining color which is not subjected to color replacement, or raster data of another color replaced in. At this time, color correction is carried out on raster data of remaining process colors.

  • Publication number: 20030179396
Abstract: When image signals of C, M and Y color plates are processed, a triangular wave with low screen frequency is inputted to a comparator. When an image signal of K plate is processed, a triangular wave with high screen frequency is inputted to the comparator. Thus, C, M and Y colors form an image with smooth gradation and K forms an image which emphasizes thin lines. Consequently, even if an image which emphasizes gradation and an image which emphasizes thin line exist at the same time, the respective images can be formed on a recording sheet with high quality.

  • Publication number: 20030179395
Abstract: An image processing device which carries out processing for composing a first image (a color patch image for printing simulation) and a second image (a color patch image for printer management) with image data of a print job, and printing-out. When image data is received from an image processing terminal, image data of a first image and a second image are generated by first and second image generating sections. A first image composing section composes image data of an object of printing and first image data. A color correcting section carries out color correction on the composed image. A second image composing section composes the second image and an image which has been composed by the first image composing section and color corrected. In this way, appropriate printing simulation using an output device such as a printer is possible.

  • Publication number: 20030007173
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device which aims for appropriate settings and simplification of printing functions. In a print server, when a print job is received, an application name used in a client terminal is specified from a drawing command of the print job, and standard settings of printing functions provided for each application are read from database files. Thereafter, the standard settings and settings of printing functions of the print job are compared. When the settings are different, after carrying out a warning processing, setting of printing functions based on the standard settings is carried out, and image processing and printing processing based on the set printing functions are executed. In this way, while simplifying settings of printing functions in the client terminal, image processing and printing processing by appropriate printing functions are possible.

  • Publication number: 20020196464
Abstract: An image processing device is structured such that it is possible to simply and appropriately determine presence/absence of an image for which overprinting has been designated, or the image. In a print server, when an overprint warning function is set, detecting and extracting of an image for which overprinting has been designated are carried out. Thereafter, when the image for which overprinting has been designated is detected, warning is given to a client terminal, and image processing and printing processing for a corresponding image are set so as to clarify the corresponding image. In this way, the image for which overprinting has been designated can be correctly determined on a printed matter outputted from a printer.
