  • Patent number: 6466554
Abstract: A satellite data distribution method and system in which a subscriber can receive a data distribution service via a mobile communication system. The satellite data distribution system includes a mobile communication system having at least one base station unit communicating with the subscribers. The data to be distributed is transmitted from a center station of the satellite data distribution system to a satellite. The data is distributed from the satellite to the base station unit of the mobile communication system. Then, the data is distributed from the base station unit to the subscribers via the mobile communication system. Thus, a satellite data reception unit is not necessarily provided to each of the subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20020093184
Abstract: A passenger seat air bag has a bottom wall portion having an aperture portion for inflating gas inlet, and a ceiling wall portion. The air bag is shaped into a bag in which outer circumferential edges of the bottom wall portion and the ceiling wall portion are coupled with each other. At the beginning of folding, while the state where the bottom wall portion and the ceiling wall portion are put on top of each other and unfolded to be flat is kept, a coupling portion on the vehicle front side where the outer circumferential edges of the bottom wall portion and the ceiling wall portion are coupled with each other is shifted toward the vehicle rear side. In that state, the air bag is folded and received in a portion of an instrument panel so that the circumferential edges thereof are close to the aperture portion. In another air bag, a flow control cloth is disposed inside an air bag body so as to cover the gas inlet and change the flow of inflating gas flowing in through the gas inlet.

  • Publication number: 20020089155
Abstract: In an air bag device, a folded air bag is accommodated in a condition that the air bag is enclosed by a sheet for preventing the air bag 11 unfolded. The sheet has a regulation wall portion which covers an upper surface of the air bag on the side from which the air bag projects at the time of expansion. The regulation wall portion is provided with a breakable portion which can be ruptured by being pressed by the air bag at the time of expansion of the air bag. Further, the breakable portion is provided so as to be ruptured from one edge side (left edge side) of the circumferential edge sides of the regulation wall portion to the right edge side through the vicinity of the center.

Abstract: A passenger's seat airbag device comprises an airbag including a passenger's side wall portion and a peripheral wall portion. The passenger's side wall portion is arranged generally in the vertical direction when the airbag is completely inflated. The peripheral wall portion is formed to converge, when the airbag is completely inflated, generally into a conical shape from the outer peripheral edge of the passenger's side wall portion forward of the vehicle. The airbag is so constructed that the gas inlet port for an open face generally in the horizontal direction is arranged in front of the lower side of the peripheral wall portion by mounting the gas inlet port peripheral wall on a case. The airbag is housed in a case by folding it horizontally and vertically after preliminarily folded. In the airbag preliminarily folded, the portion near the upper edge in the passenger's side wall portion is arranged at a position to confront the gas inlet port.

  • Publication number: 20020047254
Abstract: An airbag system for a front passenger's seat of the top-mount type according to the invention is arranged in an instrument panel below a windshield. The front passenger's seat airbag system is constructed to comprise a door, a case and an airbag. The door is arranged on the upper face of the instrument panel. The case houses and holds the airbag in a folded state. The airbag, as housed in the case, is expanded by injecting an inflating gas into a gas inlet port so that the airbag protrudes to open the door and towards the rear side of a vehicle along the windshield. The airbag is equipped with a commutator cloth arranged to cover the gas inlet port. This commutator cloth is arranged to close the two sides in the transverse direction of the vehicle and to open the two sides in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. This front passenger's seat airbag system reduces the expansion rate of the airbag towards the rear of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6299202
Abstract: In a passenger seat air bag system, when inflating gas is made to flow through a gas inlet into an air bag folded, received and fixed in a case in order to unfold and inflate the air bag, the air bag opens a door disposed in an instrument panel, projects therefrom, and inflates toward the rear side of a vehicle. A cover portion of a flow control cloth is provided inside the air bag so as to cover the gas inlet so that the cover portion closes the opposite sides of the gas inlet in the right/left direction of the vehicle while the cover portion leaves the opposite sides of the gas inlet in the front/rear direction of the vehicle open. The cover portion of the flow control cloth is disposed so that its center in the front/rear direction of the vehicle is shifted from the center of the gas inlet toward the rear side of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6026425
Abstract: A load balancing method and apparatus are provided, by which loads in a wide range of the entire system can be balanced with a small overhead with respect to load balancing processing, and the mean response time of the entire system can be shortened. The method has the steps of (i) estimating a load of the present node based on the number of tasks being or waiting to be processed and determining an estimated load value of the node; (ii) accepting a task passing through a logical ring network, and every time a task is accepted, comparing the estimated load value and a threshold value which is set with respect to the number of tasks existing in the node so as to limit the load of the node; and (iii) judging, based on a result of the comparison, whether the accepted task is handed over to a task processing unit, or is transmitted to the logical ring network again without handing over the task to the task processing unit.
