As examples of said nitrate derivative are described N-(.beta.-hydroxyethyl)-5-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)2,4-pentadienoic acid amide nitrate, N-(.beta.-hydroxyethyl)-3,4,5-trimethoxycinnamic acid amide nitrate and the like. These nitrate derivatives are useful as vasodilators.
