Abstract: In a communication system including a data terminal having a communication function adopting a code division multiplex access (CDMA) system, a coding and a decoding means in the data terminal store parameters necessary for a coding and a decoding process in the means, respectively, are stored in the process parameter buffer according to the utilization frequency data of a designated transport format, and for the utilization frequency parameters the pertinent stored parameter data are read out and utilized without performing recalculation, thus reducing power consumption necessary for calculation.

The first qualified value is determined according to the movement and the moving rate of a coordinate position. The second qualified value is determined according to the touch pressure of the control member.

Abstract: A communication system that performs time-division multiple access mobile communication using radio in a service area in which are disposed a plurality of base stations connected to a central station through a communication network. The central station selects and designates a master base station and a selected base station close to the master base station. The central station instructs the selected base station to synchronize a radio signal transmitted by the selected base station with a radio signal transmitted by the master base station. The central station further selects at least one additional base station close to the selected base station. The central station instructs the at least one additional base station to synchronize a radio signal transmitted by the additional base station with a radio signal transmitted by the selected base station. The process is repeated until all of the base stations are transmitting a synchronized radio wave.

Abstract: A thin-film magnetic head which can simultaneously trace two tracks is disclosed. This head comprises: a pair of magnetic gap portions; and a pair of magnetic thin-film layers each of which includes a magnetic pole portion in contact with the magnetic gap portion. A distance between these layers increases as they go away from the magnetic pole portions. Each of the layers includes an expanded portion having a cross sectional area in the passing direction of the magnetic fluxes which is larger than a cross sectional area in the passing direction of the magnetic fluxes at the magnetic pole portion.
