Abstract: According to a tendency of a resource allocation request from a customer, a resource configuration that a resource provider provides is changed. The resource allocation request from customer's client machine with respect to a resource that a local domain including a server, a network, and a storage provides is accumulated together with an allocation result, and, on the basis of the accumulated resource allocation information and resource configuration information that the local domain provides, a resource planning algorithm determining the resource configuration to be provided next is executed, and, on the premise that approval of a system manager is obtained via a manager's client machine, the resource configuration change that is a result of the resource planning is applied to a group of resources, and disclosure is made so as to cope with the next resource allocation request by a customer's client machine.

Abstract: The present invention is capable of automatically changing resource allocation based on a result of measurement of performance information conforming to the service level objective corresponding to various kinds of applications. For the change of resource allocation, in accordance with a generated resource allocation changing rules and the structure information, the present invention comprises: a performance measurement item template to generate a measurement item of the performance information from the structure information by storing a resource table including a server, network, and storage, an application table indicating structural elements of applications operating on these resources, and an allocation table to applications of resources; a performance measurement engine for measuring the measurement item of this performance information with the performance measurement engine; and a means for generating resource allocation changing rules used for resource allocation change from the structure information.

Abstract: A distributed policy linking method is provided which performs a policy based management according to a plurality of pieces of policy information distributed in a plurality of domains. A policy configuration management system is installed which manages a set of an identifier and a policy repository for each piece of policy information stored in a plurality of policy repositories. The policy information corresponding to an event issued from a resource being managed is searched from the first policy repository. If the policy information retrieved includes an identifier representing a reference to a second policy repository, an access unit to the second policy repository is retrieved from the policy configuration management system according to the identifier. Policy information is then retrieved from the second policy repository and, based on the policy information obtained, a configuration modification operation is executed on the resource being managed.
