  • Patent number: 7069695
Abstract: An automatically opening/closing apparatus for vehicle of rack-and-pinion type is reduced in size and weight. The automatically opening/closing apparatus for vehicle is automatically opened/closed, by transmitting rotation of an electric motor to a back door through a drive power transmitting mechanism comprising a pinion and a rack. The rack is supported linearly reciprocably by a slide mechanism comprising a slide block and a guide rail. The slide block is formed to be sufficiently short to the entire length of the rack and the guide rail is accordingly formed to be short. Further, the rack is provided with a groove portion, and a holding member contacting with a holding face is disposed in the groove portion. Then, an interval between the rack and the opinion is maintained by the holding member, whereby engagement of the pinion therewith is ensured.

  • Publication number: 20050177977
Abstract: The force from a drive rod driven by an electric motor is transmitted via a link arm pivotally linked to the drive rod and a back door. When the back door is operated in opening direction, the link arm is supported by open-side support sliders and the acting direction of the force applied to the link arm by the drive rod is shifted to the opening direction of the back door. When the back door is operated in dosing direction, the link arm is supported by closed-side support slider and a closed-side support roller and the acting direction of the force applied to the link arm by the drive rod is shifted to the closing direction of the back door. The open-side and closed side support sliders are pressed against the link arm by leaf spring members so that the link arm is prevented from oscillating between the sliders.

  • Patent number: 6891344
Abstract: The invention provides to make an automatic opening and closing apparatus for a vehicle to be thin. An outer rack is attached to an outer side of a stay fixed to a vehicle in such a manner as to freely move in an axial direction along the stay. A thickness of the stay is set to be smaller than a width, and a cross sectional shape thereof is formed so as to be in a substantially thin convex shape. A width in a base end wall portion of the outer rack is formed so as to be larger than a width of a side surface wall portion corresponding to a thickness of the outer rack, and the outer rack is formed in a substantially thin C cross sectional shape. It is possible to make a thickness of a slide mechanism about a gear with of rack gears lined up in an axial direction in the side surface wall portion by making the width of the side surface wall portion slightly larger than the gear width of the rack gear.

  • Patent number: 6799790
Abstract: An appearance of a vehicle is improved by reducing an opening formed in an interior trim for vehicle. An actuator unit is mounted in a pillar of the vehicle, and a linking rod is linked to a rack bar, which linearly reciprocates along an axial direction provided at this actuator unit. This linking rod protrudes from the pillar through the opening formed in an interior trim, and the other end thereof is linked to a back door. Moreover, this actuator unit is disposed so that a moving direction of the rack bar inclines on a vehicle-rear side by an opening/closing inclination angle &agr; with respect to a direction perpendicular to the vehicle and inclines inward in a vehicle-width direction by a width inclination angle.

  • Publication number: 20040134129
Abstract: The invention improves accuracy of engagement of a pinion and a rack with each other in an automatic opening/closing device for a vehicle. In the automatic opening/closing device for the vehicle and for automatically opening and closing an opening/closing member provided to a vehicle body, the device includes a motor for generating a driving force for driving a pinion for rotation, a sliding member having a rack engaged with the pinion, and a rail member for positioning the sliding member and for guiding the sliding member in a predetermined direction. The sliding member and the opening/closing member are connected through a connecting rod. A base member is integrally formed with a motor fixing portion and a rail fixing portion. The motor and the rail member are fixed to the base member. As a result, it is easy to improve accuracy of positioning of the pinion and the rack and to improve accuracy of engagement of the pinion and the rack with each other.
