  • Patent number: 5796913
Abstract: A CPU 38 retrieves the reproduction control program from a header portion of a video disk. The CPU stores the program into a RAM 35. The CPU controls disk players 34a and 34b to reproduce video data from video disks, based on the program stored in a ROM 33 and the reproduction control program now stored in the RAM 35.

  • Patent number: 5611693
Abstract: A compact image karaoke device with only a small number of image disks which provides the impression of having a great many background images. Two players are provided for reading background images from image disks. Background images are selected from at least one image unit group corresponding to at least one image genre corresponding to selected song genre and are read by the two players and changed at random, for example, every 30 seconds. By editing the display of background images in this manner, a great number of background image series can be obtained for combinations of the background images. Images obtained and displayed corresponding particularly to the starting portion of the song are provided only on the number of images available. Therefore, even if a great number of songs are consecutively selected, a user will not feel as though the same images are being repeatedly shown.

  • Patent number: 5485218
Abstract: Interpolating processes for vertically aligned horizontal scanning lines are performed with respect only to red component video data so as to simplify the structure of an image processor and to decrease the number of components that are required for interpolation. Interpolation is always performed for the green component video data, which makes up a great deal of the luminance component. Even when only green is interpolated, 59% of the total luminance component of yellow is interpolated so that flicker is reduced to a practical level.

  • Patent number: 5233438
Abstract: An entertainment apparatus includes a loudspeaker for producing an orchestral background for singer's accompaniment and a TV monitor for displaying a background video relevant to a song sang by the singer. In a compact disk, accompaniment data and corresponding song text data are recorded with respect to each of a plurality of songs, and in a video disk, stored are a plurality of background video data each being used in conjunction with a song selected. When a desired song is selected, its accompaniment data and the corresponding song text data are read from the compact disk and one of the plurality of background video data is read from the video disk. The song text data is superimposed on the background video data so that the song text and the background video are superimposedly displayed on the TV monitor. In synchronous with the display on the TV monitor, the accompaniment data is reproduced from the loudspeaker to give an orchestral background for singers.

  • Patent number: 5007002
Abstract: A serial printer with a dot print head which prints print data produced in accordance with a page describing language. In this serial printer, it is judged whether or not character data is included in the print data and, if included, whether or not character data printable by the dot print head in a single scanning stroke exists in the character data previously judged, whereby the character data non-printable in a single scanning stroke of the head is printed similarly to graphic data included in the print data after being converted into image data, and the character data printable in a single scanning stroke of the head is printed independently of graphic data. Consequently, the character data can be printed without displacement of dots according to print ability of the dot print head and excellent print quality of the characters can be obtained.
