  • Publication number: 20150154798
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer-readable medium for transitioning between images in a three-dimensional space are provided. A three-dimensional (3D) model of a location that includes multiple two-dimensional images textured onto the 3D model and each image is associated with a set of credentials is provided. A virtual path is generated within the 3D model, the virtual path including at least some of the plurality of images in the sequential order. For each image in the virtual path, a type of a transition within each image and between the adjacent images in the sequential order is determined. The type of transition is based on the set of credentials associated with each image. As the virtual path is traversed using a virtual camera, where the virtual camera activates transitions associated with each image and the transitions ensure that the movement within the 3D model appears constant to the user.

  • Patent number: 9025861
Abstract: Systems and methods for reconstructing a floorplan of a building for generating a three-dimensional model are provided. One aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a computer-implemented method for generating a three-dimensional model of a building. The method includes estimating a floor height and a ceiling height of the building. The method also includes identifying a core region of a two-dimensional graph, the core region corresponding to an interior of the building. The method includes determining a solution path that circumnavigates the core region and minimizes a cost formula, the cost formula providing an edge cost for each of a plurality of edges. The method further includes generating a three-dimensional model of the interior of the building based on the floor height, the ceiling height, and the solution path.

  • Patent number: 9013543
Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture for minimizing parallax based on depth map generation are described herein. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to cameras positioned on a camera assembly that capture digital photographic images. The digital photographic images are stitched together into a panoramic image. In order to minimize the parallax while stitching, the procedure includes estimating a distance of a pixel corresponding to a scene point on the scene surface from a panoramic center of projection positioned on the camera assembly to the scene surface. A depth map is generated that provides the estimated depth of the pixel. Based on the estimated depth, the pixel may be projected onto each camera. A panoramic pixel corresponding to the scene point may be obtained from the values of each projected pixel. The panoramic pixel may then be mapped onto the panoramic image with parallax minimized.

  • Patent number: 8994726
Abstract: System and methods for preparing a model of an environment for display are provided. In some aspects, a system includes a transformation module configured to modify a three-dimensional (3D) model of an environment such that a target wall portion of the 3D model is more visible from a viewing direction after the modification than prior to the modification. The modification of the 3D model is based on constructive solid geometry and comprises at least one of i) a removal of at least one ceiling wall portion of the 3D model, ii) a thickening of at least one lateral wall portion of the 3D model, and iii) a removal of an obstructing wall portion. The obstructing wall portion blocks at least a partial view of the target wall portion from the viewing direction.

  • Publication number: 20130083966
Abstract: In accordance with one or more aspects of a match, expand, and filter technique for multi-view stereopsis, features across multiple images of an object are matched to obtain a sparse set of patches for the object. The sparse set of patches is expanded to obtain a dense set of patches for the object, and the dense set of patches is filtered to remove erroneous patches. Optionally, reconstructed patches can be converted into 3D mesh models.

  • Patent number: 6247521
Abstract: A melt filling pressure difference control method controls a pressure difference used to supply melt from a holding furnace to a cavity of a casting machine by generating a pressure difference between an interior space of holding furnace and the cavity formed inside the mold. The method includes the steps of setting up a program pattern comprising time-varying characteristics of pressure difference target values, controlling the pressure difference so as to follow the program pattern that was set up, detecting whether the melt surface has risen to a predetermined level inside the cavity, compensating the program pattern based on the melt surface level when the melt surface has risen to a predetermined level inside cavity, and controlling the pressure difference between space inside the holding furnace and the cavity so as to follow the compensated program pattern.
