  • Publication number: 20170124689
Abstract: A subject information acquisition unit 12 acquires imaged subject information indicative of attributes related to illumination for a subject from a taken image. A preset information selection unit 21 selects preset information as illumination setting information for setting an illumination environment according to a user operation. An illumination setting information adjustment unit adjusts the illumination setting information selected by the illumination setting information selection unit to illumination setting information corresponding to the subject on the basis of the imaged subject information acquired by the subject information acquisition unit. By simply selecting the preset information, it is possible to set easily an illumination environment for relighting, for example.

  • Patent number: 9542729
Abstract: There is provided an image processing device including a depth acquisition unit and a smoothing processing unit. The depth acquisition unit acquires a depth to a subject in correlation with a pixel in a captured image of the subject, and the smoothing processing unit designates a pixel in a region excluding a predetermined region in the image as a target pixel, and performs a smoothing process of the degree according to the depth corresponding to the target pixel for a pixel value of the target pixel in a predetermined direction. This causes a pixel in a region excluding the predetermined region in the image to be blurred, thereby generating a panning image.

  • Publication number: 20160261852
Abstract: A depth map generation unit (15) generates a depth map through a matching process using a first image generated by a first imaging unit which has a pixel configuration including pixels having different polarization directions and a second image generated by a second imaging unit which has a different pixel configuration from the pixel configuration of the first imaging unit. A normal-line map generation unit (17) generates a normal-line map based on a polarization state of a polarized image of at least one of the first and second images. A map unifying unit (19) performs a process of unifying the generated depth map and the generated normal-line map and acquires an image in which the number of pixels is not reduced while generating the depth map with precision equal to or greater than the generated depth map. The image in which the number of pixels is not reduced can be acquired while generating the highly precise depth map.

  • Patent number: 8421914
Abstract: A down-sampling operation is performed on moving image data to reduce a sample count of the data to 1/M times the original sample count. In the down-sampling operation, a band-limitation operation is performed on the moving image data using a low-pass filter. The low-pass filter has a stop band frequency that prevents a harmonic component having a K-th order or higher, of harmonic components generated in the down-sampling operation, from overlapping an original signal component. The down-sampling operation is then performed on the band-limited moving image data, thereby compressing the moving image data. Aliasing distortion caused by a harmonic component of a high order is controlled. The resulting compressed image is free from a substantial loss of a high-frequency component of the original signal.

  • Patent number: 8009934
Abstract: When an output unit is capable of operation at a frame rate F and a resolution of x×y pixels, an imaging unit or an image input unit converts an image into an imaged frame in an internal data format having the frame rate F and a resolution of ix×jy pixels. An image converter converts the resolution of the imaged frame supplied from the imaging unit or the image input unit into a resolution that can be represented by the output unit, generating an output frame having x×y pixels. At this time, the image converter carries out predetermined resolution conversion based on a moving velocity of the image by blocks each having a predetermined size. Thus, such visual effect that an observer of the image of the output frame perceives the image at a resolution exceeding the actual resolution of the output frame is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20100290762
Abstract: A motion image reproduction apparatus that reproduces motion image data from converted motion image data. The motion image reproduction apparatus includes a block expander that receives converted block data included in the converted motion image data and data indicating a conversion mode in which the converted block data was converted and that expands the converted block data based on the data indicating the conversion mode abd a combiner that produces frame data by combining blocks reproduced via the block expansion performed by the block expander. The block expander reproduces the block by performing the block expansion process in a mode corresponding to at least one of a spatial decimation process in a fixed sampling point position mode, a spatial decimation process in a sampling point position shifting mode, and a temporal decimation process, performed in the production of the converted motion image data. The combiner produces the frame data by combining blocks reproduced via the block expansion process.

  • Patent number: 7813430
Abstract: In an apparatus that converts (compresses) motion image data, the amount of motion of a subject in a block of motion image data is detected, and spatial decimation is performed in a mode in which sampling point positions are fixed or in a mode in which sampling point positions are shifted, depending on the detected amount of motion. When predicted image quality corresponding to the moving speed of a subject detected by analyzing blocks is lower than a predetermined threshold level, spatial decimation is performed in the mode in sampling point positions are shifted such that the moving speed of the subject is virtually changed to a value at which a super resolution effect occurs, thereby achieving data conversion without causing significant degradation in image quality.
