  • Patent number: 7053955
Abstract: An electronic still camera, comprises a lens to form an image of a subject; a distant measuring section to measure a distance to a subject and to output a distance signal; an image capturing focusing section having a driving section to shift the lens within a scanning range determined based on the distance signal, an image capturing element to output an image signal of the image of the subject and a detecting section to detect a focusing point of the lens based on the image signal; and a light measuring section to measure a luminance of the subject and to output a luminance signal. The image capturing focusing section changes the scanning range of the lens in accordance with the luminance signal measured by the light measuring section.

  • Patent number: 6686965
Abstract: An electronic camera which photographs images of an object, outputs image signals corresponding to the images, and stores the image signals with an assigned file name. A display on the electronic camera displays images corresponding to the stored image signals. Along with each displayed image signal, the electronic camera's display also displays the assigned file name and a frame number. If a user chooses to delete a particular image, the frame numbers for stored image signals following the deleted image are advanced by one, in order to maintain an unbroken numerical sequence. The file names assigned to each stored image signal will remain unchanged.

  • Patent number: 5768640
Abstract: An apparatus for recording a photographed image on a recording medium together with information received from a satellite of GPS (Global Positioning System). The apparatus includes a first memory to store recording data on the recording medium; a second memory to store the information received thereafter by a GPS receiver; and a judging circuit for determining whether the later recording data is to be shifted from the second memory to the first memory when the shutter is actuated.
