Abstract: Disclosed is a text mining method with steps for separating high frequency information and low frequency information and applying an ideal analysis method to each kind of information. Negative expressions and modality expressions are extracted from the low frequency information to assist in extracting valuable knowledge for risk management. Text classification technology by the conventional key word method is suitable for extracting and classifying high frequency knowledge but extracting valuable information for risk management or from the actual customer voice in the call center text database requires extracting the essential valuable knowledge from vast quantities of ordinary information. This method has a function to hold in a folder the document found by a keyword search, and a function to store the remaining text into a low frequency information folder, after having stored the high frequency information found by keyword search.

Abstract: To automatically generate translation templates containing variables which can be replaced with various words or phrases from a bilingual pair of sentences, the machine translation system reads the first language sentence and second language sentence which are mutually equivalent, analyzes the morphemes and phrases of the sentences, identifies the word correspondence between the first language sentence and the second language sentence with reference to the bilingual dictionary, generates a translation template by replacing the corresponding words of the first language sentence and second language sentence with variables which are mutually correspondent, extracts the phrase correspondence between the first language sentence and the second language sentence, generates a generalized template wherein the corresponding phrases are replaced with variables, and generates a partial template wherein the corresponding phrases are separated.

Abstract: A pre-edit support method for a machine translation system has an improved accuracy of parsing and an improved efficiency of pre-edit support. In a machine translation system translating a source language into a target language, a source language text is read and divided into words. Word sequences occurring a plurality of times are extracted, of the extracted word sequences the word sequences having a high occurrence frequency or a large number/high ratio of words with multiple parts of speech, are extracted as complex word candidates and displayed to a user, of the complex word candidates the complex word candidates the user designates are used as complex words to be translated integrally, and pre-edit symbols are added to the integral complex words as translation support information.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for extracting text information for use with a computer system including an input unit, an output unit, and a storage is described. The storage is loaded with documents, abstracts thereof, and relational information indicating relationships between a sentence of the abstracts and sentences of the documents. In response to a selection instruction from the input unit, a sentence is selected from the abstracts such that the documents are accessed so as to extract therefrom, based on the relational information, sentences associated with the selected abstract sentence. Information related to the associated sentences thus extracted is outputted to the output unit. According to the method and the apparatus, text information such as important portions of a document and a list of words appearing in the important portions can be easily obtained by use of the abstracts.
