  • Patent number: 10448584
Abstract: The present invention provides a medium for plant cultivation including a thermoplastic resin containing at least one of an ethylene unit and a propylene unit, wherein an extract obtained by treating 10 g of the thermoplastic resin with 50 mL of ion-exchange water at 95° C. for 4 hours has a pH at 25° C. not less than 4 and not more than 9; a medium for plant cultivation allowing a plant to be efficiently grown regardless of the type of the plant with an apparatus and a method for plant cultivation including the medium for plant cultivation; and an apparatus and a method for plant cultivation including the medium for plant cultivation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 26, 2014
Date of Patent: October 22, 2019
    Assignee: KURARAY CO., LTD.
    Inventors: Yasuyo Nishimura, Yasuhiro Nonaka
  • Patent number: 10159202
Abstract: There is provided a medium for plant cultivation comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer chip. An ethylene content of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer included in the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer chip is preferably 20 to 60 mol %. In addition, a water content in the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer chip is preferably 20 to 300 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. As a result, it is possible to provide a medium for plant cultivation, which is capable of being used instead of the soil or rock wools, and with which it is possible to sufficiently grow crop plants, to have excellent recyclability, to facilitate a process for disposal the medium, and to have a small environmental burden.

  • Patent number: 5235599
Abstract: In the event of a failure on a transmission line, a sender, or a terminal node of the failed line, broadcasts CONTROL packets to each of all adjacent tandem nodes, containing a hop count and node trace data. In response to a CONTROL packet, each tandem node increments the hop count of the packet, updates its node trace data, makes a record of all arriving CONTROL packets, and broadcasts copies of each arriving CONTROL packet to adjacent nodes if the hop count is smaller than a prescribed value. A chooser, which is the other terminal node of the failed line, responds to CONTROL packets from a given node for sending back to the given node as many RETURN packets as there are failed channels.
