  • Patent number: 7025609
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing having a receptacle for receiving a complementary mating connecting device. A shutter is pivotally mounted on the housing for pivotal movement in an angular range between a closed position blocking the receptacle and an open position allowing mating of the complementary mating connecting device. The shutter includes a pivot shaft insertable transversely into a bearing hole in the housing. The bearing hole has a given width and a restricted mouth of a width less than the given width. The pivot shaft has a major cross-dimension for rotation in the bearing hole and a minor cross-dimension for insertion through the restricted mouth to allow the pivot shaft to be inserted transversely into the bearing hole.

  • Publication number: 20050230474
Abstract: A memory card connector includes a housing defining at least part of a card-receiving cavity of the connector and including a bottom wall and a side wall joined to the bottom wall. A slider is movably mounted on the housing and is engageable with the memory card for movement therewith. The slider is slidable along an inside of the side wall of the housing. The slider has a projection engageable in a recess in a side of the memory card. The projection causes the slider to be biased outwardly toward the side wall if the memory card is inserted into the cavity in an incorrect orientation. A slit is formed adjacent a juncture between the bottom wall and the side wall of the housing to allow the side wall to yield in the event that the slider is biased outwardly against the side wall in response to the incorrectly inserted memory card.

  • Publication number: 20050215125
Abstract: A memory card connector includes a housing defining a front receptacle area communicating with a cavity for receiving a memory card. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the housing in a side-by-side array transversely across a rear of the housing. The terminals have contact portions at a rear of the cavity for engaging contacts on a side of the memory card. A blocking post is disposed immediately in front of the contact portion of at least one of the terminals to prevent an erroneously inserted memory card from engaging the contact portion.

  • Patent number: 6709856
Abstract: A device and method are provided using a sensor containing an electrode with an enzyme layer to determine a component in a liquid sample. Inlet and outlet channels feed liquid sample to and from the sensor surface. The inlet channel is placed an angle of preferably 1 to 80 degrees to the sensor surface, and an inlet channel end opening is at a distance from the sensor surface of preferably two fold or less of an inlet channel inner diameter. The angle and distance provide good measurement accuracy, stable measurement sensitivity and rapid response. The sensor may be vertically sandwiched between upper and lower parts, and be removable from the upper part. Liquid sample is continuously moved from the inlet channel over the sensor surface and discharged through the outlet channel. Liquid sample speed over the sensor surface is adjusted to provide sensor output in proportion to concentration of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6350273
Abstract: A corneum puncture needle for extracting tissue fluid from under the skin corneum includes a needle body and a stylus extending from the needle body to be inserted into a corneum of a human body. The stylus and the needle body form therebetween a stepped portion acting as a stopper when the stylus is inserted into a corneum of a human body. The needle body has a core formed in a unitary body with the stylus and a coating layer or a tube formed on the core. The stylus has a suitable length for prevention of damage of blood vessel. A plurality of puncture needles may be arranged on a holder.
