  • Patent number: 8651893
Abstract: A connector arranged to prevent connection failure due to foreign matter trapped between contacts and a connectable object. The contacts have a first movable piece portion, the anterior end including a first contacting portion for contact with a flexible circuit, the posterior end pressable by a press member in a direction opposite the flexible circuit, a second movable piece portion, the anterior end including a second contacting portion for contact with the flexible circuit, the posterior end of first and second movable piece portions being integrally formed, and a springy piece portion for displacing the movable piece portions. Pressing the posterior end of the first movable piece portion by the press member causes the contacting portions to come into pressure contact with the flexible circuit. The contacting portions being brought into two-point contact with the flexible circuit by the press member pressing the contacts.

  • Patent number: 8529302
Abstract: A connector comprising a connector main body for insertion of an object to be connected; a plurality of contacts disposed at intervals from one another within the connector main body in the width direction; and a freely rotatable press member for pressing respective contacts against the inserted object to be connected. When the press member is rotated in one direction, respective contacts are pressed toward the object to be connected by the press member and, when the press member is rotated in the other direction, the press of the respective contacts by the press member is cancelled. A rotation fulcrum of the press member is provided between one and the other ends so that when one end of the press member is pressed, the press member rotates in one direction and, when the other end of the press member is pressed, the press member rotates in the other direction.

  • Publication number: 20120289093
Abstract: A connector is capable of facilitating a rotation manipulation of a pressing member. A pair of first manipulation portions projecting backward from both sides in the width direction are provided on the back ends of the pressing member, and the first manipulation portions are for performing the pressing manipulation in the top-to-bottom direction with a finger upon rotation of the pressing member. The length from the rotation fulcrum of the pressing member to each first manipulation portion (power point) is increasable, and the pressing force for performing the rotation manipulation of the pressing member is reducible. The protrusions projecting upward are on the back end sides of the first manipulation portions. Furthermore, the first manipulation portions are outside in the width direction of the pressing member from the terminals.

  • Patent number: 8172592
Abstract: A connector configured to effectively prevent an incomplete connection caused by an imperfect insertion of an object to be connected. A tip of a flexible circuit inserted into a connector main body abuts against a lock member, a press member is rotated toward one direction while the lock member is moved toward outside in the width direction of the connector main body, a protrude portion of the press member abuts against the lock member so that the rotation of the press member becomes regulated, and the press member is rotated toward one direction while the lock member is returned toward inside in the width direction of the connector main body, the press member is allowed to rotate, therefore, the press member does not rotate to the closed position while the flexible circuit is imperfectly inserted.

  • Publication number: 20110092091
Abstract: A connector which effectively prevents an incomplete connection caused by an imperfect insertion of an object to be connected. When a flexible circuit tip is inserted into a connector main body and abuts against a lock member, a pushing member rotates toward one direction while the lock member moves toward the outside in the width direction of the connector main body, a protruding portion of the press member abuts against the lock member so that the rotation of the pushing member becomes regulated, and the press member rotates toward one direction while the lock member returns toward the inside in the width direction of the connector main body, the press member is rotatable, therefore, the press member does not rotate to the closed position while the flexible circuit is imperfectly inserted. Hence, it becomes capable of effectively preventing the incomplete connection caused by the imperfect insertion of the flexible circuit.

  • Patent number: 7494375
Abstract: A connector is provided which can confirm full insertion of an object to be connected by feeling at insertion manipulation and can temporarily hold the object to be connected surely. Each of lock portions is formed by a non-elastic member. On both ends in the terminal arranging direction of a connector body is provided a temporary holding member which is elastically deformed upward in contact with an upper face of a flexible cable inserted into the connector body and recovered while urging the flexible cable downward when a notch portion of the flexible cable is fitted with the lock portion. By this, when each of the notch portions of the flexible cable is fitted with each of the lock portions, the feeling that the flexible cable urged by the temporary holding member is fitted with each of the lock portions while being pressed downward can be obtained through the flexible cable. Therefore, incomplete insertion of the flexible cable can be surely prevented.

  • Patent number: 7427211
Abstract: A connector prevents insertion of a pressing member into a connector body when an object to be connected is not fully inserted into the connector body. Each lock portion is a non-elastic member. The thickness of a pressing piece of a pressing member is gradually reduced toward its tip end with a gap between each of the lock portions and a fixed piece portion as the maximum. When a flexible cable is not fully inserted into the connector body, the pressing member can not be inserted into the rear of the connector body, and the flexible cable is not electrically connected in an incomplete insertion state. Therefore, disengagement of the flexible cable from the connector body or contact failure caused by displacement between the flexible cable and an elastic piece of each of the terminals can be surely prevented.
