  • Patent number: 6661555
Abstract: A light shutter device including a group of light shutter elements 31a, 31b 31c and 31d formed on a light shutter chip 30 made of PLZT has a construction in which an electrode gap is set wider in a element in which an electric field acts more strongly to equalize half wavelength voltages of elements almost to the same level since electric fields acting on the elements are different in strength from each other even under a prescribed voltage applied between a common electrode 32 and each of individual electrodes 33. An electrode gap of an element 31c having a weaker electric field is comparatively set narrower, whereas an electrode gap of an element 31d having a stronger electric field is set comparatively wider. Moreover, a shape of electrodes of each element are altered so as to make half wavelength voltages of elements almost equal.

  • Publication number: 20020186446
Abstract: In order to attain a light shutter device capable of individually suppressing variations in quantity of transmitted light among light shutter elements regardless of differences in position of a light shutter element and pattern of electrodes around a light shutter element on a substrate, a light shutter device including a group of light shutter elements 31a, 31b, 31c and 31d formed on a light shutter chip 30 made of PLZT has a construction in which an electrode gap is set wider in a element in which an electric field acts more strongly to equalize half wavelength voltages of elements almost to the same level since electric fields acting on the elements are different in strength from each other even under a prescribed voltage applied between a common electrode 32 and each of individual electrodes 33.

  • Patent number: 5668201
Abstract: A thermoplastic composition is provided which exhibits desired levels of viscosity, dart impact strength, and flame retardancy. The composition includes respective amounts of a bulk vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide-rubber graft copolymer, an emulsion vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide-rubber graft copolymer and a flame retardant which contains an amount of a halogenated epoxy compound. The compositions are useful for making molded articles which exhibit desired levels of flame retardancy and impact strength. The thermoplastic compositions may also further contain respective amounts of non-epoxy halogenated compounds, flame retardant synergist such as antimony compounds, and drip suppressants such as fluoro polymers.

  • Patent number: 5610235
Abstract: A thermoplastic composition is provided which exhibits the combined properties of high gloss, reduced viscosity, desirable levels of dart impact strength and reduced levels of opacity. The compositions contain respective amounts of a bulk vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide-rubber graft copolymer, an emulsion vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide-rubber graft copolymer, a high molecular weight vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide rigid copolymer, and a low molecular weight vinyl aromatic-vinyl cyanide rigid copolymer. The emulsion graft copolymer utilizes as the rubber a vinyl aromatic-diene rubber. The thermoplastic compositions are useful for making molded articles exhibiting high gloss and desired levels of dart impact strength and opacity.

  • Patent number: 4924270
Abstract: A toner supply device including a hopper for containing the toner; a toner supply roller rotatably disposed below the hopper so as to fill an opening formed in a lower section of the hopper; a charging blade which is disposed so as to be in close contact under pressure with the toner supply roller to electrically charge the toner which is transported on the toner supply roller; a toner scraping mechanism having a toner scraping blade arranged at a position located downstream to the charging blade with respect to a rotational direction of the toner supply; a sensor for detecting the toner density; and a control unit for controlling the toner scraping mechanism depending on signals from the sensor so as to make the toner scraping blade move to one of a first position at which it comes in close contact under pressure with the toner supply roller and a second position at which the blade stands apart from the toner supply roller.
