Abstract: A reproducing apparatus wherein a frame is divided into an upper frame having an image retainer and a developing device arranged near the image retainer for developing with toner a latent image on the image retainer, and a lower frame engaging at one portion thereof with the upper frame, and the upper frame is movable relative to the lower frame. When the upper frame is in a displaced state a pressing device for pressing the developing device to the adjacent place of the surface of the image retainer is released.

Abstract: A device for driving the copy board of a copying machine comprising a driving member adapted to perform a reciprocating movement during the copying operation, a copy board engaged with the driving member, and at least one switch adapted to detect whether or not the copy board has been disengaged from the driving member when the copy board and driving member are in the vicinity of the starting position. The copy board is disengaged from the driving member by a force greater than a predetermined level of force applied thereto in the direction of reciprocation.

Abstract: A magnetic brush type developing device for a single component developer having an axially elongated sleeve and a plurality of magnets disposed in the sleeve for relative rotation therebetween includes a regulating plate extending axially along and substantially adjacent the sleeve surface for regulating the height of developer adhering thereto, and a pair of partition plates arranged substantially perpendicular to the sleeve axis at axially opposite ends thereof and predeterminately adjacent circumferentially-disposed surface portions of the sleeve for preventing an axial flow of developer along the sleeve outwardly beyond the partition plates.
